In those lucid dreams it's usually really easy to remember anything from real life, although sometimes it might take a small effort.
Admittedly, some lucid dreams are much less lucid than others. Again it depends on wether or not you raise you lucidity level and stabilize during the dream. If you make it automatic, then you can be sure that most of your lucid dreams will be long, fun, and you'll be sober

I still had doubts about a year ago, like you did, about how much "you" is really carried into the dream, so I tried to test it out in a LD and see for myself. Turns out if you "stabilize" enough, it is 100% you.

Lots of people here have gotten to a much higher level of lucidity than I have though. The best way to know imo is to make it your goal
Merci beaucoup Higat ! This means a lot, i now know without doubt that real lucidity exists and is quite the norm among lucid dreams, i can now start climbing the mountain with my newfound motivation.
