Joined DV about 8 years ago and now getting back into LDing, a few questions!!

Hello everyone! I joined DreamViews back in 2008 (this account) when I was 12 (which I know was against the rules). I am now 20 and in college, thought I'd share what's changed and what hasn't and ask for advice!

At my young age of 12, sitting up and writing down my dreams every time I woke up was a breeze. I quickly gained massive dream recall and before long began lucid dreaming. I was quite obsessed. I had printed out the tutorials of every method of attaining lucidity and would read over them and try them often. I attained lucidity using the FILD (is it even called that anymore?) method several times, had tons of DILDs and one time experienced a WILD by accident when I had a cold (crazy experience with lots of "loud noises"). I took B6 sometimes and became quite good at the nose plugging and time checking reality checks in my dreams. I also tried the majority of the dream inducing audio clips that were on this site at the time! I was into lucid dreaming and wrote down 100% of my dreams from around ages 12-14. Granted, I obviously never FORGOT about it, but I stopped journaling my dreams and stop intentionally lucid dreaming after that time.

Even after not being "into" dreaming for about 6 years now, I still have an amazing dream recall and sometimes have DILDs! I have been having a lot of recurring dreams lately and have decided to get back into LDing I started a new dream journal and have about 5 entries and some new dream signs to look out for. I am so so grateful for everything I learned on this website back then because of how it has shaped my experiences with dreaming for the rest of my life . Anyways, my questions are:

      1. what should I read to get "caught up" on LDing from the past 6 years?
      2. people who have gotten back into LDing after a long break, what helped you the most?
      3. will dream recall and attaining lucidity be more difficult for me now that I don't have a "young mind"? similarly, will having an irregular sleeping schedule slow my efforts?

ps. if anyone actually recognizes this username, I'd love to catch up. I used to frequent the chat room quite often back in the day

edit: just realized I still have my AIM linked to this account. hahahahahahah blast to the past much?

2.) Last year I decided to take lucid dreaming seriously and simply being on the site help a lot since it was the first time for me seeing everything about lucid dreaming covered in sections with details/experience. I'm sure it has the same effect for anyone and helps people naturally focus on their goal of attaining lucidity.

3.) It may take time to frequently lucid dream at the pace you had before. But once you get the hang of it again I doubt it will be difficult due to the time gap. Irregular sleep schedule could make it more challenging but you can perform RC's through out the day or dedicate small routines that could make your mind focus on LDing, to try to average out your awareness for when you decide it's time to sleep.

Hey man welcome back I would recommend Joint a dv class or just checking out their tutorials and what helped me when I returned from my break which wasn't as long as yours but I focused on different techniques like before I stopped I was an expert at mild almost every time I tried I had a lucid dream but now that I'm back I've been focusing on wbtb and wild but instead I've been getting lots of dild but nevertheless it's a lucid dream and it shouldn't be difficult to gain your dream recall back but if you believe it will be it will be just think how easy it was when you were younger

Welcome back. I, too, have recently started frequenting the forums again after an extended break. Fortunately, I seem to naturally stumble into a lucid state while dreaming quite often, and so I have still been experiencing lucid dreams regularly during my hiatus, but I am looking to begin actively inducing lucidity again. Don't be surprised if simply posting on this forum assists you in achieving lucidity within the next few nights!
