Same thing happened to me, I did this about 7 times (sometimes it brought me right back into the same dream) other times I was in a new location. I 100% agree to make this work, do NOT move at all or open your eyes. It takes practice but then it's a piece of cake. Also, visualize where you just were to get back into the same dream, if not then let your visions take over and enter a new dream. You should be aware you're dreaming right away and have full control.

I found when I felt I was about to wake up, to stop and focus on surrounding landscapes to be a big help! You have to see things as clear and vivid as possible to stray from awaking up too early.
