      Exclamation Dream Guides

Are dreams guides real people that you randomly seen in your life before ?

I don't really think so. I know I've heard all over the place that everyone you see in a dream is someone you've seen sometime in your lifetime (though I have no clue how one would even go about proving that hypothesis). So technically, some dream guides could just be someone you've seen before, though it can be hard to pin down exactly, since their appearance sometimes changes.

On the other hand, some people don't even have dream guides that are human. I've heard of wolves and trees being dream guides, so unless you've seen a talking wolf or talking tree sometime over the course of your life, it's hard to imagine that they are real people/things.

I suppose it would depend on your worldview. I've read that your brain cannot construct a face it's made from memory. So if you think that your dream guide could have a face you've never seen that would imply that it's spiritual.

Haven't met mine so I'm not sure. Or at least I don't remember.

i think there is the pool of people saying you can ask any dc or three or something as long as you really want to learn something everyone can help you (sure there are the more smart and "lifelike" dc´s and the bad replica laggy bots dc´s^^)
there is another pool of people who say they are special entities. not human somewhere on earth you dreamshare but more this: there are different planes. you have your dreamplane. and there is this "neutral?" plane everyone has access. there are some entities and even if you wake up they still exist there. this are the dreamguides you can call with some experience. a lot of people report that when you really want to find your DG you start your lucids and shout out: i am ready for my dreamguide. some describe that they get the feeling to get followed thru their dreams and watched. and then the DG might test them to see if they are experienced enough to get their wisdom
once you earned it you will have a lifetime companion that will theach and help not only in dreamcontrol but real life issues.... so the theory^^

some time ago i saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M-b...mVPWANIAqWluxn

i think its pretty inspiring and cool but my intrinsic motivation is not there (yet) but sooner or later i will go on my journey to find my DG

I have the experience of the presence sometimes and come close to some communication in a few Lucids Whatever is going on at these times ( and in all Lucids coz I love being lucid ) is very intriguing indeed and I am very open to develop more in Lucids for these sorts of reasons - love it!

It's all very interesting. I'm going into it with a neutral mindset but open to whatever happens.

I don't think so. Mine (I have two) are only vaguely human, they're humanoid, yes, but they have many strange properties to them.
One of them is a girl in her 20s, I could precisely describe how she looks like but the strangest thing is - she looks like she's made of light.
The other one looks like an old lady, IF old ladies could float above the ground and were unable to move their joints. Yes, she's creepy, but doesn't scare me.

So...I think the better question would be what exactly they are ?
I'm leaning towards "figments of imagination" but if someone can prove otherwise, go ahead, I could use some magic in my life.

One of my dream guides (well, i don't know if he is the One or if I have several) seems to change his face all the time, he is like multicultural. His head is always transforming, he doesn't stay still, never seems stable. That means when he appears, he might look asian at first, then as I keep looking at him he might become a black guy, then adopting yet a different kind of skin color, changing his nose or his teeth, and on and on. What's funny is that, as he speaks, his voice keeps changing as well, but completely randomly, not in sync with the face at all. I remember laughing in a LD as my dream guide had a chinese appearance but was talking french with a very hard african accent. I am pretty sure his multicultural aspect symbolise his wisdom, as if he had had many previous incarnations on earth, in different countries and cultures. He manifests All these lives at once, but my vision can only grab one at a time.

I know that it's him now when I see him in my dream (or when I remember the dream), he has a sort of charisma, a presence that I can't mistake with any other DC. Also, he is always smiling, and positive, encouraging and helpful. In LD I have asked him a few questions with deep answers from him, and he surprised me in a recent NLD with a sing and a dance, reciting at the same time a prayer, then asking me to mimic him.
I forgot to say, but it might be obvious by now, that he is male... I think I might have a young female guide as well, but I never met her in a LD so, I can't say for sure.

So, to anwser the OP, I think dream guides (and DCs in general) are not necessarily people that you met in real life. I like looking at my DCs faces when lucid, they are often changing as well, taking caracteristics of different people and mixing those randomly. But maybe the initial caracteristics have ben previously recorded from people in waking life, we will never know, I guess.

(I am french as well, so I hope you'll understand my english.)

Ooh, isn't there a Buddhist God that has many faces like that ? That sounds interesting.

Maybe so, Blackhammer. I did some reading about Dream and Sleep yoga, and some other buddhist books, but I am not that into buddhism, so I would not know (I only chose my avatar image for the peace that I feel looking at it).
Interestingly.. as I googled some, I found that there is a "God" in the Game of Thrones universe called The Many-Faced God, also known as Him of Many Faces, that I didn't know about.

What is really weird, is that the author seems to use the same symbolism with that deity that I found myself with my guide...

The founder of the Faceless Men came to believe that all the diverse slave population of Valyria prayed for deliverance to the same god of death, just in different incarnations. Thus, in Qohor, the Many-Faced God is called the Black Goat; in Yi Ti, the Lion of Night and in the Faith of the Seven, the Stranger.[1]

This belief of a single god with many incarnations or 'faces' came to be reflected in the Guild's House of Black and White, which contains a public shrine with idols of many death gods, including the Stranger of the Faith of the Seven.
So, maybe you just helped find out that I was a citizen of Braavos in another life, if that city really exists though. Anything is possible, so who knows.

      Thanks for your interest

I think you are referring to Hindu deities (http://hindunet.org/god/summary/) & (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahma). "Like Senators, Hindu gods can have multiple faces."

In Buddhism there are no actual 'gods/goddesses' but more so the practitioner becoming 'Buddha' which means the ‘Enlightened/Awakened One’. (Who is Buddha? | About Buddha)

Basically throughout your life (lives) you are trying to make yourselves a better person by doing 'morally' good. It's a very confusing subject I know, I'm just going off from what I learned in a literature class.
