      Increasing and Maintaining lucidity tips

      Hello everyone.
I have an issue with my lucids.Everytime i do it is exit from a normal dream and re-entering in just 2 seconds by just thinking of the dream and now im lucid.Bang im in and i've made it staying into the dream for longer BUT although im lucid and practising control the dream seems just a little bit more vivid but in general feels just like a normal one.Im doing some random stuff(control, rubbing hands) and after a while i lose control and it fades away.
How can i increase vividness, clarity and being able to stay in for longer periods of time?
I've heard there's 4 layers of lucidity. My dream characters did not know that this is a dream so i guess i was layer 2 or 1.So my goal is to get into layer 3 or 4.Heard that when you get to this point everything gets more real ,color and stuff and sometimes more real than 3D world and the characters will know this is just a dream. What i experienced was almost just like real life, but not fully.
      So any tips for that?Thanks!

for me it helps to stop for some seconds.

when you get lucid do a long nosepinch but breath deeeeeply in and out again. Tell yourself this is YOUR dream nothing what was going on matters. think about what you want to do and when you remember your goals (in best case you incubated them during waking) you start doing them. Having goals helps you to stay focused and dont loose lucidity just like that. when you dont notice your lucidity slipping repeat the beginning tip every few minutes.
when you want more details hold on and take your time to SEE or HEAR or FEEL the details. focus on something and examine it (this stabilizes the dream too btw) the longer you look on a wall and touch it the more detailed it gets.

another thing is daypractice. when you practice mindfullness and beeing in the moment and looking for details and not just autopilot thru life your dreams will be equaly more detailed and you wont loose focus that fast. the way you are in waking the way your dreams are (plus the impaired mind)

Wow, what a wonderful reply relaxanddream!
Also, for staying in the dream longer, I think it's important to just relax and not worry about rushing through the dream, remember that you have all the time in the world!
I like to practice being lucid while I'm awake. I try to maintain my awareness for as long as I can while pretending and starting to half believe that the world around me is really a dream. I find that doing that helps me to bring greater, less interrupted awareness into my dreams.
I completely agree with RelaxAndDream's comment about using your senses to experience the details. I don't know what it is about looking for details but it seems like when I look for details in dreams, my mind automatically fills them in. It's pretty neat!

One technique I have heard of recently is to obtain anobject like a suit or a ring and as long as you're wearing it, ensure you will stay lucid in the dream. Never tested this out though but it sounds decent.
