Ok, so I haven't had a lucid dream in a while (I'm getting back into it), but I can still recall the most vivid lucid dream I've ever had. It wasn't the last LD I ever had, far from it actually, but something about it definitely left an impression.

It happened a few years ago. I don't remember the events leading up to me falling asleep, but I believe I laid down to take a nap in the middle of the day. I "woke" in the dream almost completely lucid in the same room I fell asleep in — Something about the bed wasn't quite right, which snapped me into lucidity. Everything about it was incredibly detailed. I was in my house so I walked into the living room while exploring the house to take in all the details. The large window in that room has a bland view in real life. In this particular dream, however, I can't even begin to describe the scenery. The large mountains, eastern (Chinese?) architecture, gorgeous sunset, and vegetation were so beautiful that I just wanted to stand there, lucid, and stare at it the entire time.

I still have a strong memory of that dream several years later...at least the first part of it, because of how vivid it was. There are vague memories of possibly doing other things in that same LD, but then again I may be mixing up other dreams since it happened so long ago. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like that? Have you ever been taken aback by unexpected beauty in a dream? Lucid dreaming can be such a crazy experience; I never know what to expect but it's almost always fascinating!
