Waking with a song in your head

I'm just curious as to whether anyone else ever wakes up with a song in their head. It happens to me quite a lot, and it's not really like those annoying songs that keep on cycling through your mind, just a random song. I don't know if it really means anything, just curious.

I get the same thing. Sometimes it's a song from far back in my memory.

Happened to me the other day. Trying to remember what song it was...
Oh yeah, "Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
      I love that song.

      Hey,

Yes, I get the same thing sometime. And it's not like I'm just remembering a song I've heard before. I can remember it in amazing detail, every chord, down to the last note. It has always surprised me when it happens, especially when it is a song that I particularly like.

i think some songs u might wake up with might be or have a particualr rythm that makes its sounds like a particular way like brainwashing or something

Waking up with a song or music happens very often for me. It is one of my dream signs.

It happened to me this morning. I woke up remembering almost nothing about my dream, but I had the song "Closer To The Heart" by Rush stuck in my head. I wonder what it means.
“The sleep is still in my eyes
The dream is still in my head
I heave a sigh and sadly smile
And lie a while in bed
I wish that it might come to pass
Not fade like all my dreams” —Rush

Yeah, for me. I hear songs and other pieces of music in my dreams, and remember them when I wake. Thing is, half the time i've never heard the songs before :/

Oh, it reminds me of a Dream I had.

Are you familiar with the song "I Can See Clearly Now (Bright Sunshiny Day)". Well, I had a dream where that song was running through my head, and I was thinking of a Stage Production for that song. I've been around in my life and I've seen quite a few Stage Productions and have even been involved in a few. So I was really bee-bopping along with all sorts of images swirling in my dream's imagination. Then, it would just so happen, that I ran into a Production Company, and you can guess what Number they were working on. Yes, "Bright Sunshiny Day". So I walked up to the Production Manager and told him that I would be glad to work for him for free, since, if I was not working for him, I would be doing the same thing for myself.

It seemed to have been the right choice (dreams are not so much about interpretting what they mean, as making the correct choices while still in the Dream), because the Production Manager then took me to a secret path in the Jungle that would take us to the Top of the Mountain.

Yes, i do that all the time...
It's usually a song that means something. Not only that, but i also hear songs in my dreams as well, usually pertaining to the dream.
In one dream, i dreamed of someone from my past, and one line of a song was on a loop. 'And i will never be free, because there is always something there to remind me' by Dusty springfield. And it was like the dream was telling me i could never be free of my past.
And then recently, i had a dream where i'd been kidnapped. I escaped my tormentor, came home. On the radio, it was a song by U2, called 'sometimes you can't make it on your own'
It had great relevance to the subtext of the dream.
I read somewhere that if you have part of a song stuck in your head, then there's an emotional connection to it, so you should go and listen to the whole song, to find out what it is. Chances are, your brain has stored the whole thing, and that line is pointing you towards something.
Sometimes i can believe that, but if it's The Macarena...i ain't so sure...

try to go back and make them last.'

this happens to me at least four times a week. its weird because the song usually relates to how im feeling, and its also usually a song that i havent heard in a very long time. its pretty cool actually.

I just woke up this morning with the lyrics, "some of them want to use you... some of them want to be used by you."

It was probably because I happened to catch the first few minutes of The Apprentice: Martha Stewart yesterday. It was so dreamy! Right before I turned it off.

I've had some pretty weird music dreams too. One of the more memorable ones was with a track from Seb Fontane's Prototype 4. It was really cool because it was some of the best sound quality I've ever heard, and the track was perfectly complete, ie no bits were missing, and just added a great sound track to my dream. I have no idea what the dream was about, but the track stuck.

Yes, once. Music isn't a really huge part of my life, but I remember one dream in which I was in some sort of a totalitarian dictatorship-style country, getting ready to be executed. Strangely enough, I didn't decide to change the dream; instead, I started singing the song in my sig, "Die Gedanken Sind Frei" (translates "The Thoughts Are Free"). It's quite a defiant little song. I had it running through my head all the next day.

Only once, and I don't think it really counts!

I woke up with one of the songs from the Forrest Gump soundtrack in my head (I can't remember which one now).

It took me about an hour to remember why it was in my head, but it was because about 4 am I had had to get up and take my brother to the airport, and they had the song playing in the café. I was so tired that day, I don't think I was properly awake the whole time we were at the airport

Usually for me it's the other way round.
Before a dream,OBE or LD i hear a song in my head which usually differs from the original.
      It's way cooler,sadly it doesn't last long.

It's happened to me a lot... Often it will happen and I cannot shake the song from my head for hours after I wake... It's happened a couple of times when lucid dreaming too, usually because the song is actually playing within the dream universe.
