      Concerning WILD

Can someone experienced on this tell me:
-Does it matter if I try with the mouth closed(Breathing through the nose) or open?[Still immitating my breath while actually sleeping].Keeping my mouth open makes me uncomfortably dry after a while.
-How long does sleep paralysis takes to kick in?Let's say maximum.I need to have a clear picture.

      Nope.

Breathe however you are comfortable; there are no rules about this (or at least there shouldn't be).

Sleep Paralysis, if it should happen at all, generally doesn't kick in until you are waking up, so there is utterly no need to concern yourself with it.

The only "paralysis" that kicks in as you fall asleep is REM Atonia (which is what most people seem to be referring to when they discuss SP, BTW -- that, or just a state of deep relaxation), and, if you sense that you are in REM Atonia, you are also probably already asleep and dreaming, because REM Atonia occurs at the onset of REM sleep. And REM Atonia would, of course, begin after you're fallen asleep, so its arrival will vary according to how long you take to get to sleep (but, since you're asleep, it doesn't matter anyway, right?).

I would suggest that you avoid worry about SP/REM Atonia. It is, in my opinion, by no measure a component of WILD at all, but rather just some more noise that might need to be calmly ignored as you fall asleep and make your way to the dream.

If you're curious, here are a couple of threads that speak more about SP, in real rather than mythological terms:

I infer from this that you are concerned with staying still.

If you are comfortable, you will naturally stay still.

If you are uncomfortable, you will want to move.

So, focus on getting comfortable rather than staying still. This is because resisting the urge to move can be pretty uncomfortable, which will increase the urge to move even more. If you feel the need to move, then move, that way you can get comfortable to the point where you are naturally still.
