It looks like your thinking about lucid dreaming has gotten into your dreams. As you say, all you need is the connection. Which you can get during daytime practice.
I know you say you have already read the tutorials and even practiced. But I must ask if you have read our DV tutorials? I ask, because our tutorials are pretty heavy on "mind over matter". In another words, it's not really the physical practice that gets us lucid, but our state of mind and our thoughts and intent.
For example, reality checks. As it is with everything else we do in our life, if we do it enough times, it will show up in our dreams. But it doesn't get us lucid. That's why we have to attach thoughts and feelings to the RC. The RC will then become a vehicle to carry our intent into our dream. And when you RC in a dream by force of habit, you will also get the "idea or thought" that you attached to it. And that idea is "I am dreaming'.
If I may recommend, please read this DILD+RC+Mantra tutorial http://www.dreamviews.com/dreamviews...ods-dilds.html
and Induction Methods and Techniques
And for WILDs - sessions 1-7 WILD
Good luck and ask if we can help with anything
