      Longest LD yet!

Last night/this morning I had my longest lucid dream so far (about 1-3 minutes)! I took around .75mg of melatonin and got plenty of sleep after an exhausting day in a different bed (parent's couch), did WBTB+MILD, and most of all I really believed I was going to LD (even though I haven't been RCing lately, just keeping phone notes as a DJ every day). It was sort the perfect storm. Anyway, I just wanted to share this experience with you all as you've helped so much.

It started with a lucid fragment halfway through a dream where I was a low-level mafioso; I lost lucidity very quickly and had a fairly long continuation of that dream.

After another long dream around 5-6am, I became spontaneously lucid! No RCs or anything. I was in bed in a dark, oversized and warped bedroom - I found a laptop on my lap that was playing an alien movie. For some reason I didn't stabilize so I was really struggling to stay lucid. I tried to will myself into the movie on the screen but it kept minimizing the window, and my vision would become blurry.

Finally I was able to use the drop head/falling backwards method twice, and both times it blew my mind! It felt like apparating (only way I can describe it)! I ended up in a long room with light golden brown wood floors and wood panneled walls. There was a mirror on the righthand wall with a black plaque next to it. In white and red text it read "I can now wake up more easily" (?) and the text didn't change after looking away (??).

After this, I did lots of stabilization (rubbing hands, finger through hand for first time (!), and shaking around) and walked around the room. Ahead of me there was a raised platform, a heavy door, and a red light. I tried to run towards it, and in the proccess I lost lucidity almost instantly.

There were so many firsts with this LD! It was exhilerating. Hopefully this trend continues as I'm staying here for several more days.

Anyway, I'd love to hear other breakthrough/personal best stories from you all ITT!

Congrats!!! That is exciting, and you should feel very thrilled. You have an entire life to have more and more complex lucids. You are going to love it.

"I can now wake up more easily". Man, this is why I haven't stopped thinking about lucid dreaming for the past 10 years. I think we can get a deeper meaning to life and find answers we can't in real life. I wish I could lucid dream better so that I could question characters in my dreams. I'll get there one day. Congrats on your progress though!

Thanks so much for the encouragement sivason and Cron! I just had an amazing string of LDs two nights ago and I'm hoping the trend will continue for the rest of this holiday season. I understand where you're coming from Cron. There's so much left to explore, the possibilities really blow my mind sometimes. Good luck and happy dreaming!
