      Cool and unusual pets!

      Hi,

Any of you had unusual pets in dreams? It doesn't have to be lucid dreams. Other than non-existent animals or fictional ones, I had panthers, lioness, leopards, and cheetahs as pets. Some of them were stubborn and didn't play well. Some were bit scary and rough. Some were very cat-like and playful. Come to think of it I had quite a bit of cat and bunny variant of pets in dreams. One time I had very tiny dwarf bunnies and kitten as pets in dreams, they were so adorable. They easily fit in my palm. I recreated them in lucid dreams, but rarely. I like pets in lucid dreams, but it's sort of sad as they disappear after bonding and playing with them. I'm not very good with goodbyes. I do have some persistent animals in dreams, but I don't consider them pets.

What about you guys? Any unusual or cool pets? ^^

I'll start off by sharing an excerpt from my evernote dream journal. It doesn't have to be anything grand.

      PLAYING WITH THE CUBS
Kana and I were visiting my aunt's place with mom. We mingle a bit, but mostly kept to ourselves while mom talked with her sister. I don't pay much attention to their conversation. In this dream instead of kittens my aunt has tiger cubs. Kana and I decide to play with them. There were 5 of them. We thought it was so cute they were just like cats. One of them play bites us, it didn't hurt, but we were a bit concerned since they were tigers. We joke that we were not food. Kana asks me if my aunt will let us adopt two of them. In the dream, I thought it was a good idea. A big tiger comes up to us. We recognize her as mama cat. She growls softly and flops down beside us. We pet it. It licks my hand, it tickles. We put the cubs beside it and go inside to ask my aunt about taking at least two of them home with us.

      PLAYFUL THIEF
I'm laying on my couch with my eyes closed with my sleep mask on. I hear Kana calling me saying it's time to get back to work. I don't open my eyes or move, it spontaneously occurs to me it's a dream. I call out to her and say I already sent the project for feedback working overnight and to wake me later. She sounds surprised and replies that we were playing games together all night and I been sleeping for hours. I know this was not true because one it's been a while since she passed away and we haven't played games "together" in a long while. Secondly, It's not like her to pressure me to get back to work. She's the kind of person who would do the work for me if it means I get to rest some more. As much as I missed her I was not sure I wanted to hang out with a DC version of her. I feel something heavy press against my tummy. I take off my sleep mask to see a fully grown lioness. I freeze up. I look at Kana. She's smiling and asks what's wrong. The lion climbs on to the couch, it was surprisingly light now. I remind myself it's still a dream. Kana comes and sits down beside petting this lioness as if it's a pet. She says "If you wanna rest so much go ahead, but don't get all panicky close to deadline. I have my hands full with my own projects." I sit up and push the lioness off me. She snatches my sleep mask and runs away. I look around. No point trying to chase after it, I'm glad it's gone. I give Kana a quick hug and say I'll catch her later. I wake myself up.

      Sure!

Odd dream-pets range from "Perfectly Ordinary Timber Wolves" (the dream called them that, but they are anything but, having long legs and acidic saliva), to strangely carnivorous wildebeests, to domesticated zebras, to egg-laying bears...

Regular animals always seem to be "slightly off" in my dreams, come to think about it... there's always something wrong about an otherwise normal animal.

I've seen unusual creatures but they weren't my pet I think...I don't remember. Usually the normal animals are my pets like dogs, cats and birds. Your tiger dream reminds me of the time a gynormous tiger showed up in my dream and brought me to another dream setting. It wasn't really my pet but it was pretty cool.

Wait, now I recall the time I had baby spirit bird pets. One ended up reviving I think and the other I couldn't revive. It was symbolic of something and these birds were in two separate dreams.

One time I had a dream where I tried to raise a baby dragon. He was super cute and his scales were really smooth to the touch. Also he made little squeaky sounds like a bird, kind of like a robin I guess. I probably had a name for him but I don't remember. It was hard to control him, though, and he kept burning things with his fire. I had to let him go when he burned a dream character.

I noticed that too, regular animals tend to be somewhat abnormal in dreams. Not always, but more times than not.

They seem so mysterious. If they show up in several dreams, may even be animal spirit guides.

It sounded sort of cute and fun until it burnt a DC. ^^'

I agree, It would be cool if they were animal spirit guides.
