Did you ask a question and received a useful answer?

I'd love to read some stories about how you asked a question in a dream, and received an answer that was not only funny and interesting, but clearly useful in your life.
I am particularly interested in the question "How to improve my lucid dreams frequency (or quality) ?" I tried to ask it twice, and always received the answer not in words (after all, I wasn't asking anybody but the dream itself), but in an "animation", which was very short and ambiguous and didn't help me much.

I asked a question "show me something interesting" and "show me something I should know".

In one case a bright light showed up high up in the night sky, and as I was zooming my vision on it, I lost lucidity. Second time I saw 2 people and the general feel of the dream turned scary very fast so I walked away from there, thinking something like "never mind", haha.

I think I asked a similar question other times, but can't recall the answers right now.

I was expecting more. I really thought I will receive some important information, or at least something meaningful. But maybe it was my interpretation that was at fault, or I wasn't ready for the answer?

This is something I would like to continue doing, so I'll pull out my old "to ask" list and see how it goes.

Not really a question and answer, but I did once have a tiger showing and telling me how her claws worked! They weren't normal claws, because she had claws running back along her paw, not just at the end, a bit like a sharks teeth.
She was telling me how they came out or could be retracted, and showing me as she did it. It was totally bizarre because she was chatting away to me like we were best friends, and I wasn't the least bit frightened.

uh good question. sofar when i called out directly to "the dream" i didnt get a result as far as i can tell. if i ask DC´s i might get an answer but similar to Gab i dont get what i expect... its nothing clear or constructive... but i also think one has to be openminded and work with what you get, maybe there is wisdom but you have to decode it or you have to ask several times.

í am experimenting with similar at the moment. but most of the time i ask DC´s directly... i only get coded or "random" answres but i think you get what you expect... maybe i really need to believe (also unconsciously) that i can get a usefull answer and not just random stuff and maybe i need to be more playfull with the answers i get or ask why i get the answers i get.

i remember a list i saw somewhere... was it on wagoner´s homepage? you have a list you might want to share? maybe i am in with asking some interesting stuff just directly to the dream, maybe something changed since the last time i tried

I once experienced something very similar. Instead of the answer, beams of light started moving in the sky, illuminating and overshadowing the landscape. But I quickly turned attention away for some reason (perhaps because of feeling dream instability). I wonder what would happen if I didn't.

Well, befriending a tiger is really something useful

I totally agree. How could you want a helpful answer when you don't take it seriously?

Last year I had a very vivid lucid dream in which I asked a dream character why a certain issue in my life was bothering me so much. The character stopped, look at me and smiled as she said "Because you are not busy enough". Upon waking I had to laugh because she was right, this was really a non-issue that I had blown out of proportion because I had too much time on my hands and was thinking about it too much .

      questions I’ve asked:
1.What do I need to do to be happier...meditation.
2.Where should we live...I then opened my hand and in my hand was a mini scene of a forest with some clear cuts around it. It looked like Washington.
      3. Asked what does this butterfly and image of my little brother as a kid represent....heard the word innocence.
      4. Asked what is the meaning of the universe....saw an infinity symbol.
      5. Asked a DC if they were conscious or part of me...one said part of me, another said she was conscious and was living in an after life world that is more pleasant than earth. She declined being my guide when asked.
      6. Asked who am I....a DC came and said you are the earth, moon and stars (kind of funny I know).
I’ve asked other things as well but can’t think of them offhand. I also often get no answer when asking questions.
