Thread: Strange repeating egypt symbols afterimage before sleep

Man I love ancient egypt. There is so much potential for mystery. I can't help you but this is really fascinating. Try to remember just a few symbols in the grid each time it happens and then gradually complete an image of the drawing.

I have never experienced the after image effect you speak of. What is that like?

Also.. It would be nice to know what ancient egypt means to you. If you've spent a lot of time wondering about it before this started happening etc.

Thats whole point.. impossible to remember any sign because well... for me egypt symbols are as impossible to remember as any chinese simbols!
One thing is that I keep saying to myself this is so beautiful but not sure if its because of symbols or because I see them so clearly in the afterimage (while not sleeping) or why..

Its so vivid as if I could take camera and make a picture, but too bad its not like that.. Well, first one was snowflake, and second was kind of like 2x2 symbols mostly in a square, but almost all other occurings were with egypt symbols.

Well, you know maybe they were just symbols from somewhere else but it felt ancient.. and as if from egypt.

It was almost always when I tried to fall asleep conciously.. this thing, when I was really in the mood to get asleep like that. Cant do that on will - heck im not sure if it will repeat again, its always a surprise.

What happens:
Overall it repeated ~ 10-15 times in a span of 3months or so..

In evening when Im about to fell asleep I kind of open my eyes and I see egypt hieroglyphics. In white color. If I blink my eyes as many times I want it refreshes itself similar to afterimage(maybe identically as)

The small image is always the same structure.. 4x4 symbols in a square, or maybe 3x3 or 5x4.. hard to remember because Im not from egypt and I dont know any of that so it fades away in memory.

What makes it strange is that I feel myself saying in thoughts "this is so beautiful".. Its also strange that it repeats itself so many times.. like 10+...

Its not in a dream: I can sit down, walk and blink my eyes in a minute and it doesnt go away because its just like afterimage. If fades in 2min or so.. You know the afterimage effect, right?
I may fall asleep but only for 5min at max, because the clock shows proof that I wasnt asleep for an hour or even 30min.. Maybe its between sleep and awake, yet its just weird.

Questions: why its egypt symbols, and why it makes me feel so amazing.. and why repeat so many times..

When you blink your eyes and the image doesn't go away is it like when you look at the sun and blink and see the outline of the sun? Something along those lines? Also perhaps you should try looking up hieroglyphs and see if any of them look familiar to you. It's worth a try.

I will put pen and paper to my bed, hopefully it will repeat at least once.

Hm today I got one circle image that was too difficult to replicate with pen and paper. It was quite interesting like a maze or branches of branches.. weird

Sounds like a fractal shape or kaleidoscope shape (which are kind of fractal? not sure).

I was remembering that when I had really good sleep, both on waking up and falling asleep, though not always, I'd see kaleidoscopic patterns all across my field of view while my eyes were closed. It was interesting but they moved around too much to be able to memorise them exactly. Sometimes I could still see them when I opened my eyes but only very briefly.

Well, this last one yes, but not the other ones.
And I never saw them with closed eyes.
Its sort of I snooze for 1min and then wake up and open eyes and then see it. Also it doesnt move, and is colorless. But it is very neat experience. hard to describe but its very memorable.
