      self hypnosis&LD

i was just thinkin how could self hypnosis help u to improve youre ability to LD...
i used it to help myself wake up (just after i see a LD) and write it down before i forget it.i know it is used to make your dreams more realistic but is that all?
could it be used in a nother way.like lets say if i told my self while in trance "i will lucid dream" would it work?and till wht extent?most important of all would it be safe?

i would be glad if u gave a hand here...

I think it would work better if you said something like "I will do reality checks" or "I will realize when i'm dreaming" Or, just use it to improve the stuff you do when you have lucid dreams like: "I will remember my list of lucid tasks when i'm dreaming" or "I will have long lasting lucid dreams"

As long as you don't try everything at once, it will work at least once.

as for safe, it should be safe. as long as someone else doesn't come in and tell you to kill the president while your in a hypnotic trance.

A rule of thumb someone told me is that if you wouldn't do it when you're drunk, you couldn't be hypnotized into it either. Apparently hypnosis lowers your inhibitions and suppresses your conscious mind a little; but it doesn't disable the parts of the brain that deal with morality and decision making.

You're still concious during hyposis, after all, what is there to lose control to, if it's only your mind doing all of the work? Plus your moral standards etc still apply fully, so
kill the president while your in a hypnotic trance. [/b]

They only still apply to the conscious mind. Unconsciously, you may take on a dislike to the president or something more extreme

Hypnosis and Self-hynosis (what sometimes is referred to as Auto Hpnosis) are apparently more useful than some people are aware of. It is a widely used tool for such behavioral disorders as Smoking, Over Eating or other Eating Disorders, Anger Management, Agoraphobia, OCD, sexual deviancy, etc.

Most areas have Hypnotherapists. One Hypnotherapist I knew had a program in which she would have the client come in once or twice a week for a month or two and Hypnotize the person into being able to Autohypnotize his or her self. The idea is that Hypnosis works about as effectively as the Placebo Effect, which is VERY effective, but for only a short time -- about 3 days. So for Hypnosis to have a lasting and continuous effect, it needs to be repeated often.
