Being Lucid inside a dream inside a dream

The title might be confusing, what i wanted to say is that tonight i dreamed of dreaming and in the second dream i became lucid, then i woke up, but i was still in a dream. It was strange, has this happened to anyone?

Its sounds like you were slipping in/out of lucidity and had (one or more) false awakenings. Or you were tinkering on edge of gaining control. I think prolonged lucid experiences becomes a internal struggle..since our ability to recall/remember basics things isnt exactly working correctly. It's possible even with heightened state of awarenessw..we become oblivious to (dreamworld) everything else. I'm not entirely sure we always get to choose how dream ends.

This isn't unusual....I've "woken up" and explained my lucid dream to someone, only to later wake up for real

Sounds like a false awakening, always do you reality checks as you wake up!
