      Problems with awareness

Hey. I'm having problems with awareness. It's not that I can't get aware, but it's that I don't even know when I'm aware. How do I know I am actually aware or not. How does it feel?

I feel you. So this is what I'm learning. When in meditation, I don't realize when I lose awareness, at least, not at first. When I realize, I feel this sort of.. snapping out of it feeling. Then, I just mentally say to myself "I'm back!" and resume meditation on my breath. The cycle repeats. I'm hoping with time and practice the time between losing awareness and realization of having lost it becomes shorter.
