      Dry spells....

Does anyone get these? I haven't remembered a single dream in two days... starting the night after I had my LD. It's really pissing me off, my dream recall was nearly perfect before, all my dreams were long and I could see every detail, and now the last couple days I remember absolutely nothing. Is this common, or am I just weird?

It is common, yes. I recall Aphius having a dry spell a while ago.

Yep, I have dry spells too. Since I've been coming to this site, I've had a lucid dream or WILD about every night. The more you think about it, the more you do it. Unfortunately this philosophy rarely applies to sex.

      Haha it is over!
Too bad my dream recall still has a way to go to be back where it was before.

I had one of those dry spells a few days ago. For like a week, I couldn't really remember anything that I had dreamed about and as such, couldn't write in my dream journal. But today I had a pretty good recollection of a dream, so it's all good.
The best times of your life should not be when you're still so young, or else you'll live a life always dreaming of the past.

We have all had them at one time or another. But, don't worry, it will pass.

*sigh* It's been about a week for me also. They seem to come in cycles, I don't know why. I will sometimes go for a 7-10 days without one and then whammy, 3 in one night, or one every night.
Although my average is 3-4 a week, they tend to cluster up, sometimes with gaps between!

      Yeah, it sucks!

I'm going through a major dry spell. We are talking weeks.
Not good as I have been recalling dreams for many many years.
I don't understand it but I'm patient. When it rains it pours.

      Blissful

Ugh it's Saturday morning, and I didn't remember anything.

It's my fault though, I went to bed after two and then woke up like ten, and I couldn't fall back asleep. Oh well tonight I'm going to bed at like 9:00.

Maybe, after your LD you reached your goal that you set so your mind doesnt try to recall anymore, because you wanted an LD, and because of that you need to recall your rdeams. You've reached your goal, now set yourself a new goal.

CT makes a very good point... I think really it is two-fold...

-Always have a goal ahead of you to accomplish, as CT said, if you reach your goal and do not have another higher goal your mind will instinctively not try as hard

-confidence!=easier, if you think you have made a certian goal, even if you have a higher goal, you will not try as hard since you think you have made it and that could cause you losing that level of LDing... this has just happened with me. You also inevatably get more excited when reaching a goal. Don't get me wrong confidence rocks... it is just you must NEVER associate confidence with something being easier.. ever ever ever! eradicate that association in your mind!...
With a thermo-nulcear warhead of 200 megaton yield.... yesh... muahahahahahaha,....HAHAHAHAHAMUAHAHAHAHA

I think the most important thing is to know why you make yourself get dryspells so you can learn from your mistakes... which takes a good amount of introspection.
What you are determines what you do.
What you think determines what you are.
What you know determines what you think.
      Knowledge is power.
