Well, from my studies I have learned that you can just by relaxing and asking to speak to it. In fact, peebrain over at psipog, if I'm not mistaken, said that speaking to your subconscious is as simple as something like this. |

I was thinking, there must be some other way to access your unconsious mind without dreaming. Like you're sitting on a couch, concentrating, and...poof! you're in your unconcious mind! Any ideas?[list] |

Wow. |

Try meditating. Using mind altering drugs is like trying to control a team of wild horses. And of couse the inevitable coming down must happen. They can be useful for the initial "door" opening, but relying on them for each transition may not always be the wisest choice. The Yogi is able to maintain a state of pure awareness without the use of drugs. The pure awareness pulls back the curtain of illusion, where drugs can merely perpetuate the illusion with more illusion. |

What a long, strange trip it's been.

There's no conscious or subconscious (or even unconscious) PART of the brain that exists. |
|
Well we didnt say PART of the brain (or atleast i didnt), we said your subconcious mind or concious mind, as in...well its hard to explain. but you know what i mean right? |

First it's important to realize that you only have one "mind" and referring to conscious, subconscious, and unconscious minds as separate entities is not technically correct. It's merely a way to illustrate certain concepts. That said... |
|
I think that there can be a lot of spin on all three. The conscious mind, the subconscious and the unconscious. |
|
I'll have to disagree. Subconscious mind is an entity or a bunch of entities that hang out in the back of our minds. I'm not sure of their functions, but they do have a profound effect on dreams. |

Wonderfull Topic. And I've found this: http://www.robertpeterson.org/chap10.html to be a wonderfull read. |

Luminous Spacious Dream Masters That Holographically Communicate
among other teachers taught me
not to overestimate the Value of our Concrete Knowledge;"Common sense"/Rationality,
for doing so would make us Blind for the unimaginable, unparalleled Capacity of and Wisdom contained within our Felt Knowledge;Subconscious Intuition.

Very interesting topic indeed with some very interesting responses and I must say out of all the examples and some Theoretical gestures I agree with Howetzer's response. The unconscious could show relation to perhaps a gut feeling or just a sense of intuitive capabilities. As for the Subconscious I've always saw this as extraordinary power without true direction. When placed in the dream world where the subconscious is very much the for-front of our dreams - (non lucid or course) This is where the subconscious tends to try to communicate information to the conscious mind usually events that we may have experienced but with no means of relating this information to the point where the conscious mind can understand it. It's almost like a broken language. This is why the majority of information in regular dreaming is absurd |

You know, maybe you could talk to your subconcious in a lucid dream or talk to your dream guide, and ask if there's an esier way to communicate with it. Any how, some one should try what Robert Peterson did. I think it's awesome. |
