It seems like you tried to combine WILD and WBTB techniques. I'm not sure this is the best idea.

I dont practice WBTB so I cant advise you about that.

To try WILD just set your alarm to about 4-5 hours after you go to sleep. Hopefully you will wake up in the middle of an REM cycle. Turn off the alarm and just lay there trying to remain a little bit aware. If you dont feel the WILD onset within 10 minutes just let go and try another night. Taking 50-100 mg of vitamin B6 will help you but dont do take it more than twice a week.

It is pretty hard to produce LDs without ever having one, so dont get discouraged if you dont have a LD after each attempt.
