strange, half-concious dreams

I'm have pretty good recall (last night was the first night in a few months that I haven't remembered 2+ dreams), and am working on having more lucid dreams. I just don't have them very frequently at all.

But this topic is about some really wierd dreams I've had, one bordering on a sort of lucid hallucination. I play football, and after most Friday nights I have football dreams the entire night. I'm always sitting in my bed, and I sit up and look around. My coaches are always like "get in the game!", but I don't have anything on, so they're like "ok we'll just have to send somebody else in". The thing is, I'm sitting up in reality, not in dream world, and my eyes are open and I'm still seeing this shit. I know it's a dream, but I never try and do anything cool because I am so distressed at being naked and nowhere near ready to play in the middle of a game that all I'm doing is zapping everybody away. I'm in my bed in the dream, and it's not like my bed is just in the middle of the field. There's like a bubbled of darkness (a regular dark room at night) around me, and it fades to the bright light of the field.

Sometimes, I sleep sitting up in class. I have had short blurry dreams doing that. Sometimes while laying in bed I close my eyes and just go into a few seconds of dream even though I'm still awake.

Are you dead sure that it's not a false awakening ? Those can be extremely realistic and can really fool you.

Dreaming that you're without clothes in front of a crowd or your peers is very common. I think it has something to do with our innate fear of being exposed and vulnerable. (Unless you ask Freud, who would probably tell you that you've got repressed sexual feelings toward your mom or something. That guy had issues...) Anyway, the best thing you can do in that situation is try and take control of the dream. Walk right out there on the field with your luggage in the wind. And do it proudly. It's your dream, your mind.

Just recently I had a similar dream. I was walking through the mall with a friend and I realized that I was bare-assed naked and everyone was staring at me. I was very embarassed but despite the fact that I was blushing like crazy, I ignored them and kept on walking like nothing was out of the ordinary. In fact, I played a few arcade games and got an ice cream. By that time, I was calm and being naked wasn't so stressful anymore. When I finished my ice cream, I looked around at everyone, shrugged, and said, "Well, I suppose I should go put some clothes on now."

Also, sometimes you dream so vividly that you believe you're still in this reality. Or, you dream when you're in that state halfway between sleep and waking. It's hard to explain, but you can dream when you're not fully asleep yet. It's a sort of astral projection, only not really. Those kinds of dreams can be pretty disorienting and distressing because your body and your mind aren't quite in agreement as to what's going on yet.

I'm not sure if that helped at all, but at least you know you're not alone. I think just about everyone has had a naked dream at least once in their lives.

Ahh yes, public nudity dreams - they are likely among the Top 10 dreamsigns of everybody.

Thanks guys. I didn't really mean to stress the nudity part... it was more about me being naked of gear. I have a blanket over me in the dream so that isn't as big of a deal.

I'm sure that I'm really sitting up, because after I zap everybody away I lay back down and try to go back to sleep.

I actually never had one of those 'naked infront of lots of your peers' dreams, im usually in the crowd laughing my ass off.

I would have to say it was lucid because I was aware that I was dreaming. And the ice cream was pretty cold...

And for the record, I was a Playboy chick in another life. I was standing in the wrong line in this life though.

Lol! Laughing your ass off in the crowd? Who was naked?

I had dreams in which I was either in my boxers or something. I kept having to try to hide myself from everyone else. One time though I was on my bus in boxers and no one seemed to care... me or anyone else... it was fun.
