You don't HAVE to have control to be lucid. Lucid dreams mean you know you're dreaming. I often don't take control unless I'm utterly pissed (like my last one I was so mad I got a bad grade I had the teacher change it to an A). I've been LD since I was a very young child. When I was fifteen I stopped remembering dreams alltogether due to a very bad lucid dream I had where I refused to take control. I would stay up extra late, actually WANT to not remember. When I first tried this I would set the alarm to go off every hour to make sure I disrupted my dreams. For a year and a half I had no dreams.

Now I want them, and for a bit I had to struggle to get them back. One day, I remembered how it felt and it came back naturally again. I don't always take control, I just know I'm dreaming. I would never give them up again. The bright colors, the real feelings, it's like I never fall asleep, the reality is so real.
