Hi again. I've improved my LDing skills during last month. Now I have about 3-4 LDs a week, and they last longer (a couple of minutes instead of a few seconds), but Iīm unable to change anything. Now that I can stabilize the dream for a while all I can do is explore my sorroundings . As a new challenge when I become lucid I try to summon a given person (I decide who before falling asleep) but it hasnīt worked so far. I say to myself: 'when I turn back X will be there' but when I do it nobody is there. The only exception was last night, but when I looked back a couple of strange twins were there instead of the invoked person Any ideas?

When I want to find them, I usualy spin around and search in any place I can think of. Now, the bad thing about this technique, is that it doesn't work

Hi, there I am new, but this is may be off topic or not. I just found this site and found that there are all of these techniques and guidelines that I never knew existed. So anyhow, one of the things that I have done to practice bringong in whom and what I want into my LDs has been this. For two or three days ahead I use visuals, such as a particular person, scene, item or story that I want, I call it “it”. When I find that I am at the point of dropping off to sleep and when I mean dropping off I mean that I am trying to hold my eyes open but they keep rolling in the back of my head without my knowledge sleep. Then I watch it or read it. Then I wake myself up, I do this a few times. Then I can bring it into to my dream as often as I want and do what ever I want with it.

However, you know, it doesn’t hundred percent always work. I have other stuff going on in my head that at times runs amuck. I have just started to get more control over this, and it has helped me to keep others out of my way when I am LD in my dreams. Such as when I don’t want them in my dreams, or I want them to leave, or to stop.

Now I have done these for over a year now, it no longer has to do be 2 or 3 days in advance now. Now at times I find that it just happens and I have to concentrate to keep to stop it. It feels like I have just opened up a door and everyone just wants to come on. Am I weird or something? I hope this helps, I have yet to get all of the forum terms down so I hope I am helping. Thank you! Happy LDing! And Good Luck!

      Thumbs down

What works for me is looking for them.
Maybe even call out their name "Miss Johnson!" and look for her and she will be there!

You have to be absolutely convinced they will be there, or it will not work. So you can't have thoughts such as: "damn, they will might not appear...".

That's all advice there is. If you can't convince yourself they are going to appear, they won't.

Thanks for all the advice. I think you're right, I still donīt feel very confident that the summoning will work. Also, my way of thinking is probably too rational and that maybe applies to my subconcious Anytime I want something to happen in my dreams that is impossible in real life I can almost feel my mind complain. I need to de-educate it

here is the thing: You MUST be sure it will work. if you doubt then it wont work

BELIEVE and it will happen. Your mind controls your dreams.

[edit] I dont give a damn what Cthulhu says. He is NOT in my head between March 23 and April 2.

I use two methods to summon dream characters, the first being useful for changing scenery as well. Go to the nearest closed door and visualize the person or scene that you want behind it. Understand that everything in the dream is being created by your mind and that you can create anything else just by thinking about it. Really let this sink in, and then open the door. The alternative technique might be easier because you don't run the risk of opening the door or turning around too soon (i.e. before you've conditioned your mind enough for the person to appear). This method also does not require a door. Just imagine the person behind you and expect him or her to tap you on the shoulder (it might help to specify a particular side). Not only can this method be done anywhere, but you will know when it is safe to turn around. Just keep visualizing the person behind you until you feel the tap.

It's strange I've never even tried to summon DC's, I just come across them whenever. Suits me fine so far.

I haven't tried the "tapping" version, sounds like a very good idea! Simply turning around didnīt work as I said. And on Saturday night, when I got a quite long LD I was in an old high school building; There were a number of doors, so I tried the teleportation trick. I thoght: 'Ok, when I open this door it will lead to the Sahara desert'. But when I opened the door it lead to a classroom with two students. Tried with the next door, and this time it was a maintenance/storage room I even asked for help to a DC that was over there thinking that maybe my subconscius would cooperate this way. But the guy turned out to be not very intelligent. I explained him that all the place was a dream and that I wanted to try the teleportation trick etc. But he said he had not idea on how to do it and was more worried about what would happen to him when I woke up

I have to start a DJ online to share a few surrealistic experiences like this that I have already had during LDing
