Had an awesome lucid dream last night. It was very long. It was so long, I got bored (and watched a movie ) I'll copy and paste from my dream journal.

Dream 33
Lucid? Yes.
Date: January 28, 2007.

This dream started off as if I'd never gone to bed after talking to Cirvin. In fact, I never remember even going to bed. It's hard to explain. I was still upstairs, standing behind the computer chair putting stuff away. I realized my Dad would be home soon, so I turned off the lights to make it appear as if I was asleep. However, when there was no light in the room, I could still see almost perfectly. I did an RC and became lucid. You have no fucking idea how suprised I was when I realized I was in a dream. I don't remember going to bed at all, so I could swear I was still awake.

Now, I recall being in the blue chair in the living room downstairs, I forget how I got there, but it doesn't matter. I'm still lucid, because I did another reality check to be sure (Holy fuck, I love that feeling). Mum is in the room too. It's night, and theres some crazy TV show on, but I'm obviously not paying much attention to it. I can feel and hear and see everything. There's too much detail to discribe. In this dream, I never lose lucidity. I never feel it even fading away. I'm completely aware I'm dreaming 100% of the time. So, I stand up and bluntly tell my mum that I'm dreaming. I try to fly, but again, it fails (again, I'm in my living room with a 10 foot ceiling&#33. Somehow, though, mum's able to float around. Meh.

I go upstairs, because I want to have some fun. I go into my bedroom and close the door. I go down beside my large container of pennies and small coins, and tell them that they're dreaming. Suddenly, some of them started talking to me. Others slowly became lucid as well. (lmfao)

I did the same thing with the bunch of arrows. They became lucid, and started telling my all these stories about how they've traveled long and far and all that crap. It was highly amusing to see OBJECTS become lucid. I do another reality check because, well, it feels really cool and reassuring. While talking to the objects, I remember one very clear statement I made: "Heh, you know what the funny thing is? When I wake up, I probably wont remember any of this". This sparks an idea in my head. I get on my computer and open up my dream journal. Almost everything was scrambled, and truth be told, it was actually really cool to see. I love the feeling of doing something in a dream while knowing you're in a dream. I love feeling time pass, unlike in non-lucid dreams. So, in the dream journal, I try to write some text. No suprise, it comes out scrambled, just like the others. In true tweaker fashion, I decided to see what happens if I restarted the computer. So I go to the start menu and select "restart". It's intresting to note that the words "Start" and all symbols that contained text or a logo were clearly intact. The computer shut itself off, and started up again. The BIOS appeared normal, besides the fact I couldn't read it. The Windows loading screen was all-blue (think BSOD) with a very tiny "Start" in the middle of the screen and a small loading bar under it. It took roughly 10 seconds from power on to get to the logon screen (<3 Core 2 Duo&#33. Now, the cool part. My username and display pic were in the top left hand corner of the screen. I click on the text box and enter my password, however, as I should have known, it came out scrambled. I thought logically, if I just looked at the keyboard (which was intact as well) and not the screen, it might be fine. I do it, and it works. I log back into Windows and nothing changes, all the text is still screwed up, but it's a different combination this time. Heh, hell with it.

Another cool idea came to mind: I wanted to be an otter. It's something I really wanted to do, but the dream usually ended before I could attempt it. I got up from the chair and stood by the window so I could see my reflection. It was normal, which was strange for a dream. I wasn't quite sure how to go about doing this. I looked at myself in the window and put all my effort into invisioning myself in anthro form. I concentrated and forced everything I had into it, but nothing changed. Or at least, nothing I could see in the reflection. I was slightly disipointed, but that's just motivation to work on my, er, dream control skills?

I decided to go back downstairs. Nothing in my house really changes in a dream. It's very real. I do reality checks A LOT during this dream because sometimes it's so realistic and close to reality, I have to be 100% sure. When I got back to the living room, a few of the lights were off, and my two brothers were sitting down watching the Matrix. They were trying to hit each other with a long piece of plastic which seemed to be glowing as if under a blacklight. I didn't really care much, so I told them to stop so I could watch the movie. I walked past them and sat down in the chair I was in before. It was extremely cool to watch a movie in a dream. It was the second version of the Matrix. I knew why it was in my dream: I'd watched it less then 4 hours ago! Under these exact same light conditions. I watched the movie for about 10-15 minutes before getting bored with it. I head into the den and try to practice my flying skills. It's still night outside, keep in mind, and it's rather cold. The den has a larger, maybe close to 12 foot ceiling, so it's easier to take off without hitting anything. I leap into the air, while seeing myself flying in my (head/mind?). I can jump signifigantly higher then normal, which is pretty wicked, but I can't seem to fly. Damn, I thought it was easy, seeing as I did it in my first lucid dream. I tried a few more times before something suddenly woke me up. (Felt like something quite litterally 'snapped' me back to reality. Oh well, this was THE LONGEST lucid dream to date, in the range of 30-45 minutes. I NEVER lost lucidity at all, which was very cool. Keeping in mind I did reality checks every 5 minutes or so, it's no suprise. I need to work on dream recall, because there are tons of tiny details I can feel and remember in my mind, but if I go to try and think about them, they fade away. I do, however, remember being able to feel, see and hear EVERYTHING in 100% realistic detail.)

End of Dream 33.[/b]
Note: Cirvin is a friend of mine I was talking to over MSN.

Note 2: Damn, it didn't look that long in my dream journal...

Ok, so, the main thing that stood out to me here was the insane amount of lucidity I had. I never felt it fade the tinest bit, even while watching the Matrix (it was the part where they rescued the Keymaker and were on the huge freeway, riding on motorcycles and stuff. Pretty intense&#33. The only part the confused me was when I couldnt remember how I got downstairs.

A few key points:

-- I can barely remember actually physically going to bed last night. The dream mated so perfectly with reality, it cancelled out and created a flawless transition. Anyone else have this happen? Heh, it was scary. I wondered how long I was in a dream before I did the RC.

-- The dream lasted easily about half an hour. It was incredible. The feeling of knowing all this is taking place in your imagination was aweinspiring. It never gets old. Never.

-- This was my second lucid dream in a row. I had one the night before as well, and it lasted about 15 minutes (I was all pumped about THAT one until I had the one last night )

-- Text that is well-known and doesnt require any thought to read WILL BE INTACT. Think of something like the Intel logo or the Burger King logo. You should be able to see those perfectly as long as you know what they are.

Now, the one main thing that distraught me was that I was unable to leave myself any notes while actually in my dream. My dream journal is a text document on my computer in my room. I tryed to leave myself a message in my dream journal while still in my dream. I gave up shortly after because, even though I knew I was writing coheriant sentances, I also knew they weren't real. If I hit "SAVE", it would effect nothing in the real world. But this got me to thinking: is there a way to do this?

In my next lucid dream, my goal is to use the phone. All my lucid dreams are extremely long, so I should have tons of time. I don't know who I'm going to call, but I'm going to call someone.

As a side note: I have not encountered one single piece of equipment that will not function in my dreams. Computers / TV's / lights / cars etc, all work fine. In one of my previous lucid dreams, I played Need for Speed: Most Wanted on my computer. I hauled ass! (then I ran into a median [I do that a lot while doing the speedtrap tool booth trial things]) Oh, also, I'm able to see my reflection too. Again, perfectly normal. Or is it?

I also have a voice recorder built into my MP3 player. I may try recording something on that.

I'm desprite for ideas. I know chances are slim to none anything will actually work, but it's worth a shot. I'm very pleased with how my dream recall is progressing. I plan to play with these ides farther!

That's all for now. If you read all that, you're a brave soul. It only took me 45 min to type up
Disregard that.

That's awesome, I wish I could just HAVE a LD, let alone a 30 minute one.

Call yourself! See what you do.

By the way, what RCs did you do? Did you look at a clock? Hold your nose?

Then I suppose I'm a brave soul Very interesting. Maybe you should try some of the tasks of the month next time you have a LD. Talk to some DC.

You'll have one eventually. It took me over half a year to have a lucid dream, but that was without doing any methods, RCs, or having a good dream recall.

I've wanted to try going to some kind of control room in an LD with a suit hooked up to wires. I would put on the suit and there would be a big screen that shows what my body sees. Then I would use the suit to make my body sleepwalk.

I did the nose-holding one, it seems to be the one that works best for me

The suit thing sounds cool, I'll think of a way to try that as well
Disregard that.

Wow otter, sounds cool!
I was thinking, you said your mp3 player has voice recording. (Nice to know someone doesn't have a F'ing IPod lol) Depending on how long it can record for you could set it when you go to sleep and then while in your LD try to say to yourself that you will say everything that is happening in your dream IRL. Maybe this would work, maybe not due to sleep paralysis, but hey people talk all the time in their sleep. Try it out and report back if it works, of course put the audio on your computer first or something so you wont have to slowly skip through it all lol. You could try opening it in audacity (recording program) and just skip through until you see the waves go higher indicating that your mp3 player picked up noise.
