I had a dream, I'll say it short here. I heard this road where you could get to your dead loved ones, but it was too far to travel. I felt very confident in this dream and decided to give it a try even though everyone said it was impossible. I dont actually remember anyone saying anything but I just 'knew' that everyone thought it was impossible. So I started running along it as I was pretty fast but then what I assumed to be God (a voice from nowhere) said to me "The road is long" "You will find her at the end" "The road never ends" So I made a conscious decision to get to the end of it and started running fast as hell. I had no control after this but kept following the road. I came to a part that had a large hill and the road went around it, at this time I also felt that I made a conscious decision to jump way over the mountains and land on the other side, I also think I made a conscious decision to start flying somewhere along here aswell. I got distracted and lost all lucidity, if it even was lucidity. F'in good dream though!

So I wanted to know, is low level lucidity like this? Or do most of the dreams you guys have let you make some of the decisions?
Alot of my dreams are like this, where I just make certain decisions. But then there is alot where I just sit by and can't change anything. So could this be considered low level lucidity even though I wasn't aware that I was dreaming fully?

Could this dream be representative to a desire of yours to simply catch someones attention?

Perhaps there is someone you wish would just wake-up and notice you?

I am not sure if I would call this lucidity as much as I would call it reflective of a wake-state desire or emotion. Either way, I say the dream is more symbolic to your wake-life as the symbolism is manifest of latent content from your wake-state, unlike most lucid dreams where the content is manifest in itself.

I'm sorry it doesn't sound like a lucid dream to me because you never knew you were dreaming. Although you weren't lucid, it sounds like you had some dream control so its not all bad Better luck next time!

Oh sorry i jsut checked all these thread i posted in ages ago and im sorry i havent replied.

Well, when I woke up I thought about this girl I haven't seen or talked to in a longggg time but I think of her alot anyway so I dunno if theres a connection. But I never really thought about trying to catch her attention, hmmmm........

Oh and Neavo thanks for clearing that up. Do you think it is possible to have FULL dream control but you think it is real life for some reason. Coz when I was little I used to make myself fly in dreams, but I didn't know it was a dream. Then when I woke up I would try to fly but I couldn't, but everytime I dreamt I would make myself fly and I didn't know why. So do you think its possible to do anything while still thinking it is real life, or would you have to be skitzophrenic or something?

Yeah you can have dream control all the way through a dream with out realising you're dreaming. Remember dream control and lucid dreaming are two seperate things. I've had tonnes of dreams where I've had control but no lucidity.

I agree with NeAvO. I'll just add that you can also be lucid and have no dream control, so it works both ways. In fact, being aware that you are dreaming yet having no dream control is exactly what "low-level lucidity" is, at least, at the lowest level. That's not to be confused with the fact that you can be on a higher level of lucidity and have the faculty of control but choose not to exercise that ability. Sometimes it's nice to simply be a passive bystander and watch how the dream unfolds itself.

Non-LDs where you have complete control can be more fun than LDs. Like if you're some super hero and you are flying around killing bad guys... but you actually believe that you ARE a superhero... It's great!
