      Hi!

My experience with LD's started when I was about 5, at that time I had a dream where I was in a boat on a lake there was another person, I can't remember who it was but it was someone I knew, an older male. We where fishing with two gorillas (at this time in my life I had an obsession with monkeys, it seemed to me they could do anything, like climbing etc.) suddenly I knew I was dreaming, and sadly, my excitement to be with these gorillas faded at finding out I was dreaming. I was disappointed cause the experience wasn't real, from that point all I wanted to do was wake up c I knew I was dreaming, it was hard to wake up and this scared me (not being able to wake when I wanted to)

This just dawned on me a few days ago when I had a dream where there was a paper in front of me some words allot of swirls and swirling patterns I was looking at it as a piece of art bam I suddenly realize that my eyes are closed almost at the same instant I knew everything would go blank and I'd wake up, well I kind'a argued with myself and held the paper there just to delay the blank from coming on. I held this for maybe 7 seconds every thinbg went white and I woke up. I thought maybe from that experience I've conditioned myself to wake up when I start to become lucid. Is this a MILD?

BTW I have excellent DR, (dream recall?) didn't see an acronym for it.

I relay could use help on this, if anyone cares to. Thanks.

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you.

Reading about your LDs, know that the exact same thing happens to me. I'll realize I'm dreaming and then everything will just go black and I'll wake up. I haven't had very many lucids (especially lately ), but I still think I've found something that will work. It's two fold and you'll have to think of both at the same time.

      1. Rub your hands together. In one of my LDs, I felt that I was going to wake up because I could no longer move and could feel my sleeping body. So, I remember hearing someone say that if you rub your hands together it can help increase lucidity, so I figured it would help. It did. I focused on how my dream body felt, especially moving, and was able to go back into the dream.

But I always seemed to lose lucidity when that happened. That's where part two comes in.

      2. Remind yourself that you are, in fact, dreaming. Make a conscious effort to keep saying "I am dreaming. I am in a lucid dream." I think that after you practice with this and become more aware of your dream world, it will come more naturally and you won't have to talk to yourself as much or at all. Find ways to remind yourself that you're dreaming, be it by looking for DSs (dream signs) or whatnot.

I hope this helped. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. I'll try not to take three days to reply.
