Thread: When Have You Not Recognised Dreams

Describe the most surreal stuff in a dream that HASN'T induced lucidity.

Okay, I'll get the topic started (seeing as it's mine). I've looked in a mirror and seen myself with a thin black pencil moustache. My thoughts were, "Well, I haven't had a shave yet". I'm looking forward to hearing other tales of woe.

This actually happened last night...I had a dream that I was cradling a baby in my arms and cooing and then I looked away for a minute and when I looked back at my "Baby" it was my cat from my mother's house and I just thought "Hmmm, my cat sure has changed over the years. *coos more*" O.O That's just my most recent too. Bleghh. One time I looked at my hands and hand like way too many fingers and said something about needing more space for rings.

this happened to me where a dog turned into a guy from school and then a bear yet it still didnt raise any suspicions

I was watching tv in my bed (which was made of ice) and instead of noticing that something's not right I dug a hole in the ice to cool my beer.

hmm, this was a few years back, ah, i was running away from a tiger in my house, first thing "a tiger in my house"!!!! second thing wasthat i allowed myself to be eaten by it lol!

Oh, many, many weird things have happened to me in non-lucid dreams.

Being sent back in time by a floating guy in a cape and mask
Going to a nature preserve that had mythical animals that were attacking me
Watching babies speak English fluently and without any childish lisps
Going through the end of the world

Finally, going to my English class and the room is a pond with lilypads, I jumped on one and sat down for a bit.

Oh, this wasn't mine, but a friend of mine told me of her dream that she had Friday, it was funny so i'll share it with you guys [it is topic related]. Her dad wanted to get steak from the supermarket but he was arguing with her brother that they wouldn't be able to use their car because the cow wouldn't be able to fit into the passenger seat. She suggested that they should stick it in the back, but they argued about which farm they needed to go to get a 'steak.'

Haha, steak. How surreal. What was it like hearing babies speak properly. Did they have posh english accents and say,
"Oh, I do say the weather is rather nice today. Would you care for another glass of port?" To which another baby would reply,
"Oh that would be top-notch. Would you mind awfully if I were to take another one of those fabulous cigars of yours."
"No no not at all. By all means help yourself."

It goes on further in my mind. Needless to say they are all in top hats and monocles, and strangely also in nappies (diapers). As you can see i go off topic very very easily.

happened last night, i was riding a bike flying around and i had my own energy bar.

Ive been trying to go lucid fro about 5 days now and i dont know how i manage to let the most un-realistic things happen in my dreams... i need to build my awareness but i dont know how...

last night i was in a sailing race, my boat vanished so i swam back to the dock and i got a peice of scrap wood that wouldnt be able to carry me in a million years, i had an engine in my other hand and as i rode the wooden plank thats un-rideable i would use the engine to keep me afloat if i sank...

HOW CAN I REALIZE THAT IM ACTUALLY DOING THAT !!???

Not really that weird, but yesterday in my dream, a girl appeared out of nowhere, grabbed me and turned me around and kissed me, haha, i'm like ''wtf?''

Sweet. I wish all my random stuff was like that.

Lately I have been playing basketball in my dreams, something I have not done for years in real life. And in my dreams I am able to jump real high and dunk the ball, something I would never be able to do in real life unless the goal was only about 8 foot high. The next time this happens (I am now telling myself) I am going to realize I am dreaming.

Bahahaha, one time, my math teacher started talking to me about lucid dreaming (in my dream) and I'm like, "Yeah, I just started those. I wish I would have another one."

There was another time where I had to set up a photoshoot for Harry Potter........geez, basically all my dreams are odd and make no sense.

In the worst offender that I can remember, I was with a bunch of dream-friends (not real-life friends, at least not that I recognized after waking up), and we were in a classroom. We moved the desks out of the way (there were only about four for some reason) and used two of them as goals for a game of soccer. I got really into the game, and kept getting so close to scoring, and it was frustrating me that I couldn't. This is probably how I managed to the rest of the dream.

Anyway, every few minutes or so the phone on the wall would ring, which we all knew was the signal that a freight train was seconds away from bursting through the wall, crossing the room at horrendous speeds, and breaking through the other wall. Each time the phone rang, everyone scrambled to get out of the way, but inevitably someone wouldn't make it, and we'd lose another player to the train. Then the walls would be fixed, and we'd be playing again, because of course there's nothing at all wrong with that scenario.

Recently, my dad came up to me in a dream and asked me to help him remove the whale that had washed up on the shore of our pond. I thought about it for a minute, then said, "I'm not falling for that - I dream about that kind of thing." Then I looked out the window and saw that it was in fact a giant tree, a smugly went about my dream.

last night I traveled to the land of nod. where I could fly and I had magical powers the kingdom was fantastical and consisted of short people ranging from three feet to five inches tall. wow! such cute houses.

I start to make some new friends and I ask them where I am

"Oh, youre in the Dream Kingdom. But becareful of the Queen, shes evil! If you fall asleep and send off one dream into the air you will be trapped here FOREVER!"

well I sure as hell didnt feel like being short or stubby!

"Hmm...good thing I havent fallen asleep then yet, huh?"

That's priceless! Made me laugh out loud.

My dreams are boring in comparrision. I rarely dream about random people, only friends and family and co workers.

Maybe I'll focus on recall for a month, rather than having a LD.

Last night I thought, no, I was JD from Scrubs.

Oh, and this is a real doozy, my friend ben k told me at school how he tryed the nose plug RC and it didn't work. I then had a dream where I tried the nose-plug RC and it didn't work, then I tried it a slightly different way. It worked so I was performing the nose-plug RC.... and I didn't become lucid. Just think that must have had some recognition that I was dreaming and yet I didn't become 'properly' lucid. Grr... lucid dreams, who'd have 'em?

actually seeing myself from a third person POV here and there in every dream I have. A red flag should go up then and there, but it never does. I also dream abt. highscool days alot and it never triggers anything either...not yet at least

I was in a video game. there was a mini-map floating in the top left corner of the "screen." The graphics looked like they do in FFIV. If you dont understand that, you should; It's an awesome game. And I had to pee, so i found an out of the way place and let 'er rip. I was peeing for like, five minutes, when I gave up hiding it and went on with the game. Next time I pee for five minutes, I'm gonna do a reality check.

Haha, that makes me laugh. I'll remember that too.

I dreamt lots of weird things but last week was very special.
I dreamt I had hot lesbian sex with my best friend (and enjoyed it) at an hotel where my parents where also staying. Very embarassing. It should had made me lucid because not only is she not someone I would like to make love with (although she's lovely), but she's also straight and lives on the other side of the Channel.

I was in a workshop and then teleported to my house and started talking to this girl in there. Then I teleported bak to the workshop a few minutes later. I then said to my (dream) self.

"That was such a cool dream, I should have done a Reality Check."

Well first, my bed was attatched to my ceiling and a complicated lever system lowered me to the ground. Then i tried to go downstairs and my stair case winded down for almost a mile. And then when i was at the bottom and looked out a window, i saw what looked like a giant ocean outside with lumberjacks swimming in it. My brother came up to me and said "you are really stupid for not already realizing you are dreaming, i mean com one!" i told him to shut up and walked away.
