Hi guys,

Something has been on my mind lately and I was not sure who I could tell this too, then I thought of this family of thousands (perhaps more) fellow dreamers.

I've noticed recently that I've been waking up more and more feeling quite sad. It seems as though in my dreams I am longing for something or yearning for someone or some group, yet when I wake I my mind is racing and I feel quite down. . Sometimes I dream I'm with a girl (in a non-sexual way) almost like a soulmate, and really just feeling like I belong. Other times I'm with non-existent friends. Then I wake and feel disturbed and lost.

Does anyone else experience this? Is this a message about my current life in some way that only comes out from my subconcious?

This year has been particularly difficult in many ways, its difficult for me to elaborate now, so I wonder if in some way my mind is showing my deeper feelings this way.

Im a tad bit confused about what you mean so my response may be off but....

I often have dreams were I am with a girl[in a nonsexual way], I feel warmth and a whole slew of new feelings that I imagine are simliar to those in a serious relationship. After these dream I wake up with similiar feeling of emptyness. If you are having some social issues I would think that these dreams area a manifestation of your longing to belong to a group.

Just my two cents, if you want some more in depth help feel free to pm me.

i get the same thing sometimes. my dreams are filled with seducing and being seduced. or just enjoying the company of a female. then i wake up and realise that i lack a lot of feminine companionship in my life. makes me sad sometimes.

yes, acutally just this morning i woke up feeling very sad. my dream ended with a man asking me why i felt so much sadness. i walked up to him and hugged him and we both just cried together.

i think in your case, i agree with Pastro.

All I can offer you is another experience of the same thing. I have no solution to it

In one of my more bizarre lucid dreams, I met a girl. Her parents were divorced, and she lived with her mother and grandmother in a small townhouse similar to where I grew up.

To keep it short, I gradually fell madly in love with her in this dream. And keep in mind I was lucid. I had this idea that maybe she was somehow real, and another dreamer.
I spent much of this dream crying - yes crying - because I knew that I'd lose her and never find her again.

And of course I did. I woke up incredibly sad.
I never dreamt of her again either.

I've also woken up once or twice, feeling angry with my wife, but not remembering why

I know it doesn't exactly help, but as you said, it's nice to know you're not alone, eh?

Yeah, I see what you mean. I think for everyone though, emotions are enhanced during the REM period or something...but yeah, thanks peples, this was something i hadn't heard much about, so thanks for your imput.
