Whenever I enter an LD, I always get this strange sensation of walking through water. Its a really weird sensation though. It feels like there is a pressure being exerted on me, but in non lucid dreams I never have that feeling (well unless they are false lucids). I never knew how exactly to describe the feeling before, but a couple of nights ago, I had a false lucid dream. Honestly, if I had been lucid, I probably could have counted it as a WILD. It felt like I went through a wall of water to enter the dream, and that sensation stayed throughout the entire dream. Then I realized that I had the same sensation in all of my LDs. Does anyone know why that is? Do any of you have similar sensations in dreams?

Also, I have one other question... When I had my FLD, I had more control in it than I have had in any of my LDs. Why is that?

I might know what you are referring to. Sometimes when I'm trying to run, it feels like I am thigh deep in water and can only run in slow motion. I'm not necessarily IN water, but that's what it feels like. I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about or not though.

I don't think I fully understand what you are talking about, but I hope I do someday. It sounds very soothing and beautiful, in a way. Or, at least different.

Whilst saying this i am assuming that you struggle achieving lucidity, i may be wrong but here's what i think, this barrier of water you have to cross through seems to be a mental barrier, people who want to have lucid dreams force alot on their brains and if the brain is unwillling to co-operate then you are not going to get the desired results, if you are not fully trained to lucid dream regularly then your brain will try to stop you from doing something it is not reasy to handle, this might be why you experienced it throughout your experience, its always trying to hold you back, its a mental message saying "i'm not ready", a way round this is you are a persistant lucid dreamer, just take it easy, don't strive to have one every night, just put the thought in, don't put it as priority, if you ask your brain gently then your more likely to get the desired results, a forceful pressure is bound to end up with a non lucid dream, but if someone is an experienced lucid dreamer then i'm sure its easy to demand and get results because they have the experience, my advice is that if you want some better lucids, take it easy, if your problem persists in your lucids even if you are following what i said then just wish away the feeling, it is likely to work if you truly believe that it will. However only dispel this feeling if it makes you feel uncomfortable, its your choice after all. Good luck with further lucids

I may have misread the post but just to verify anyways, if yoou get a positive feel about this sensation then just ignore all of the above, sorry for any misunderstandings

Yep. Thats basically it. It gets really annoying b/c I don't have as much freedom of motion.

You didn't misread it, and no, I don't like the under water sensation. You are probably right about trying to force LDs though. I am so hyped to try to have them that my brain doesn't want to cooperate. I'll try to follow your advice and not worry about it so much. Maybe that'll work.

I haven't had that in a lucid dream, but I find in normal dreams I sometimes get this feeling. Last night I had a dream about an old building which was about to collapse, so I tried running away and it was like running in water. I then tried to duck so to have less wind resistance but it still didn't work Anyhoo, I don't get this often so it's not that bad!
