Hey guys, i've been trying various inducton techniques over the past few nights and not had much sucess, i realise they take practice and i'm willing to practice to improve on them, i have one question though, every night when i go to bed i have my ipod on playing through a playlist that lasts maybe 1-3 hours depending on how i feel that particular night, i listen to alot of relaxing music, some of it is ultra relaxation, some of it is calm music that wouldn't put you to sleep but keeps you occupied and gives you something to concentrate on, does listening decrease the chances of say a WILD or WBTB working? thanks

I'm not too sure of this myself, but i imagine it could just as easily increase your chances as it could decrease them.

I don't usually listen to music at night these days, but I used to all the time. It can be very relaxing.

If you are going to have music playing though & want to WILD or WBTB, then I would keep it a quite a low volume.

i always keep it at a low/just below moderate volume because i realise that it could pull me out of my lucid dream, i listen to music all the time but i think that if i didn't listen to music i would simply get bored and give up trying to WILD etc, but at the same time when i get to relaxed i forget that i'm trying to WILD, i'm still unsure?

Well I think if the music is at a low volume & you don't allow yourself to get too relaxed, then it's good for your WILDing as you say would get bored otherwise, so it keeps you focused & more aware.

As I said, if you don't allow yourself to get too relaxed then the music will probably be beneficial for you.

I find the thing that would help my chance of an LD through music is that if I fall asleep with music or talk radio on it will usually become part of a dream and then it will wake me up around 1-3AM so I can tell myself to become lucid and increase my chances although when I wake up I turn my radio off.

I've had decent success with music that stimulates the mind somewhat. Short of heavy metal/gangsta rap, anything that makes you think should be good. Elevator music, while sleep inducing, probably isn't best for staying aware!

I reccomend that you listen to BrainwaveEntrainment music when you go to sleep for the first 50 minutes because when you sleep, your sleep cycle come into play. I know for a fact that it's not healthy to listen to any music for a fulll night when you're sleeping. Music changed brainwave and that could cause problem...certain music increase brainwave and certain one decrease, which is a bad thing cause you want your body to control that naturally. If not then you might have a low or high brainwave all night long, which could increase the amount of time you sleep or decrease. It also mess with your ability to dream naturally.

It's best if you listen to relaxation music, better yet, to Brainwave Entrainment music, but for only about 50 minutes after you lay down to expire your day. If you want some free brainwave music, you could go to www.bwgen.com or contact me and I would be happy to share some of my brainwave music with you. I listen to this stuff every night and i dream everynight. It's great!

      Well, Good Luck.
