This happened while i was in Singapore. I woke up to some kind of swampy location, and i understodd that i was dreaming. So i walked around abit, and i decided i'd do a Nose RC. But it didnt work. And then the dream faded..

Anyone know what's causing this?

A RC is often done to prove if you are dreaming or not.
If you are mostly certain, as it seems you were, a reality check is not necessary. It may have taken your focus and attention away and actually been the cause of you waking up.

Try a differnt reailty check that doesn't have to do with your body. I have a hard time do the body reailty checks (hand though finger, tounge though mouth[was actually lucid when I tried this one]) ones too. Try doing reailty checks that have to do with outside stuff, I do the digital wacth one and see if the numbers change. That rc never failed me (even though sometimes I fail it...). Also a reailty check that can still work while your lucid can help the ld become more stable, at least for me. Also in lucid dreams I haven't got much luck with trying to have dream control when non-lucid as a reailty check ethier. For example it was dark in one dream and I tried the light on my wacth to do a reailty check and the light didn't work(that's another rc) and so I tried flying and I fell right on my face. So that was a wasted chance of a lucid dream.

I've had problems with the nose RC. Once, my nose kept moving, and as I grasped for it I forgot why touching it was so important. No lucidity there.

And my friend. Good, sensible friend. "If I was holding my nose and trying to breath, wouldn't my mouth open?" Way to jinx it, huh? xD

It seems like RCs don't work if you are expecting them to fail. If you do them throughout the day without thinking, simply accepting you are in reality, you will do the same in dreams.

My Dad (60 yrs. old, cool huh?) has the same problem, an RC will work for him once or twice but then they start to fail.. even when he knows he's dreaming. I keep on giving him fresh ones & they'll work fine until the next time. His thing is to be persistent, for example the "jump up to see if you come back down or not" RC he had to jump in the air 3 times before he started to float away, first two times he just came back down like there was gravity. And he knew (well strongly suspected) he was dreaming.

I've had problems with the nose reality check too, in some dreams I was somehow unable to pinch my nose properly. However, I think I know the solution. Instead of thinking that if you can breathe through your nose when it's pinched, you're dreaming, think that if you can't stop yourself from breathing through your nose by pinching it shut, you're dreaming. That way, if for some reason you can't pinch your nose shut, you realize that this is also a sign that you're dreaming.

I normaly become Lucid, from watching for dreamsign's. sometime's I notice them, sometimes
I just become Lucid for no reason, I just suddenly know.

But, since hearing about the nose RC on Dream Views, I have been practicing with it also.
I have yet to try it in a dream though, but I almost did today in a nap, after noticing a dream sign.

I didnt become Lucid from the dream sign, I still thought I was in real life. But I was going to
try the nose thing to check, but I woke up first.
