Information about lucid dreaming is...public. Unless you stumble across a specific form of info, like an article, titled and signed by someone's authorship, the info is yours for the absorbing just like it is for anyone to learn from it that visits the forum.

So basically, in the case of general info - read and absorb it, it's there for that. In the case of articles and such, contact their authors and ask about either quotation or general material usage, I suppose.

I don't know about quoting people without permission. There are some boards where the posts are the property of the owner. Not sure on the specifics of this board

You should probably PM an admin and ask to make sure it's ok.

Copyright exists "before the ink is dry on the paper", and pretty much everything (but not everything) is protected by copyright.

This means you need permission to use it. If you don't have permission, you are 'breaching the copyright'. However, in real life this doesn't mean much, you won't be hunted down. Unless of course your book sells millions and everyone knows about it.

Also if you're using stuff from a forum you use, it's probably just good manners to ask first. I don't think anyone would say no as long as you say where you got everything from.

Id say citing sources etc. would be the least of your worries if you plan on writing a book. You might want to work on spelling, grammar, and spacing first.
