Can this be considered a DILD?

I havnt had a good recall week, however today while taking a nap while dreaming i was running down the street where my old apt was i said to myself "this is a dream!" and i start flapping my arms trying to fly and i get a few feet off the ground and i lose my control and it goes back into a regular dream.

I think i know my dream sign because most of my dreams take place in my old apt, or near it on my old street. however this week when i did remember bits and pieces of my dreams that took place there i didnt do a reality check and didnt question anmything.

this afternoon was completly by chance so i am just wondering is that is a LD of any sorts? and also if somebody can help me understand more about why i dont do reality checks even when i think i have found my dream sign?

      thank you

thats a really good question and i kinda share your experience. the day i learned about lucid dreams i had done a lot of research that day about all sorts of stuff relating to them. that night i was having a dream and for no reason at all went "this is a dream, i'm having a lucid!" and got all excited. however when i tried to do stuff, like....walk, nothing happened and i soon lost control. i have very good recall of that dream even though it was a few months ago up to the point i lost "control" but dunno if it was truly a lucid, or just a dream incorporating all the stuff i read that day.

Yes that does sound like you had a Lucid Dream for a little bit there. I also notice that when dream control starts lacking you may lose your Lucidity and end up being back in a normal dream which seems to be the case here.
Reality Checks are more of a habit sort of thing for instance if you find yourself doing 20 reality checks a day then the chances you doing a reality check is going to be a lot higher since it is a habit you have developed.

Now Reality Checks in themselves go along with how aware you are. If you think your dream is Truly real the likelihood of you doing a reality check is going to be low. But if you find yourself questioning things then your chances of doing a reality check are higher.

Try and make doing Reality Checks become a habit for you so that the chances of you doing them in a dream increase ^_^.
