Question Video Gaming's Influence in the Dreamworld

Sometimes when I have a dream, I will get killed and have to try over again (like in times that I'm not scared enough to wake up). Does anyone else experience this. I think it only makes my dreams a bit more interesting.

I play a lot of video games, so they have a MASSIVE influence on my dreams. A lot of the time I'll have a mixed feeling, like I'm both playing a game and living it at the same time. Usually my view will be like in RL, but sometimes I'll see a screen or keyboard in front of me for a few moments. I also try to sometimes "exit" out of what's happening in some of my dreams, as a last hope of escaping whatever situation I'm in. I also have those "get-killed-and-try-again" type dreams, which is good because it's not as much of a nightmare that way , since I'm not worried about dying.

I know the feeling. Once I played gears of war Half the night then went to bed. Had a Dream I was being Chased by a Locust with a Chainsaw! LOL.

if anyone has ever had a World of Warcraft dream, those are the craziest. The game is kinda like RL anyways, and having a dream about it is just bizarre...

This reminds when I used to play some game, it crashed alot. I got used to saving like every 2 minutes and especially before I did something I wasn't sure of. It became such a habit I'd accidently do it in real life (Yeah I was really addicted to it) . eg. "Should I try to do a flip, aaww I better save first." Then I'd be like "wait a second, this is real life, I can't save." I had this idea of "saving and "loading" in dreams so I can continue my really cool ones next time I become lucid.

      Just a thought

I've had similar experiences to almost everything people have said here. I had a one recently where I was playing some jetski game with some buddies of mine, and before I knew it, I and my friends were all actually crossing a lake inside the game in order to meet my family on the other side. My videogame related dreams tend to go one-way like that, where I go into the game, instead of going back and forth.

That sounds awesome! Let us know how it works out.

Sometimes I dream that I play a game, but if I do so I will really soon enter the game. And I always end up losing :/

And sometimes game locations or events appear in dreams
I once ignited one of the lighthouses from Golden Sun... Now that was great.

Am I the only one that's had Final Fantasy dreams? Cause lemme tell ya, those are fucked... I've been Kimarhi (wtf?), Bahamut, the fighter from FF1, the boss Tiamat from FF1, and one of the espers from FF3. I've been given tasks and explored the map (which is demented and WAY more complex) as most of these characters. I consider most of these dreams nightmares, due to the insane complexity, vividness in them and the general WTF factor.

Also been in Halo, Halo 2, Mario, RUSH2049(three nights ago lol), Zelda - Ocariana of time, Zelda - A link to the past, Top gear (super nintendo), Super Mario, and Morrowind...

Yeah, video games have had a bit of an impact on my dreams...

That's one of my favourite games. Never been in it though. Would like to!

Usually I'm not in a game itself, but there are small game elements in the dream world, mixed with the 'real' world.

Being "in" a videogame is one of my dreamsigns. I hate those dreams but I have them often... I've not gotten to the point yet where I can make myself lucid in them. (I'm a foreign character in a foreign land, so far from reality yet so convincing.)

I find if I have been playing a game a lot recently they seem to appear in my dreams but I never see them in a first person instead I see them as if you were playing them and see myself in it.

Really weird, sort of stops me playing games too much are those dreams as really boring.

Yeah, those are some of the coolest dreams. You keep reviving and doing the same thing over and over.

      Kinda like Groundhog Day....

I once found myself in a broken Boulder Dash cave with a lot of explosions and died immediately. I felt nothing. End of dream.

Yeah lol! I was going to bed (so I was tired and a bit delirious) and I was playing Destroy All Humans at that time. I was thinking to myself What should I do tomorrow at school? Well, I'll holo-bob (hologram disguise) myself and then when I get close enough to the class I can use my disintegration ray and...wait a minute...THAT'S CRAZY!
