      Forgetting Lucid Dreams

I don't imagine many people forget having a lucid dream, but do you suppose it's possible? Has anyone here been going about their day and all of a sudden something triggers a dream memory and you realize you had been lucid?

Also, as an aside, last night in the hypnagogic state the word "machino" went through my head. I still have the feeling like this is important or something from my youth, but can't give it any context. Does this word, pronounced machine-oe, conjur any associations for anyone?

I think it's very possible to forget a lucid dream when you aren't lucid when the dream ends. If the dream ends and you we're still lucid you should be able to remember much of it. I think.

Yeah I think it is possible, I mean if you have really bad dream recall it is possible you have had lucid dreams and never known it.

Similarly you might only remember fragments off lucid dreams if they are early on in sleep and you go on to have a bunch of other normal dreams. I think it wasn't too long ago that Lucid Seeker said he thought he had a lucid dream but couldn't remember so yeah sure it is very possible.

I occasionally forget parts of lucid dreams. Sometimes I remember them as I write them down. Other times I'm left with only a fragment (that really annoys me!).

Machino... I'm thinking "Maraschino," like the cherry. Or perhaps a machine gun. Or perhaps El Machino, the tortilla maker... But since you said 'youth,' I'm thinking cherry.

Gah, I was afraid of that. I have this nagging feeling that I've had some lucids but can't remember them. Oh well . . .

I think machino is a wild goose chase too. frustrating.

Totally selfish to resurrect this thread, but "machino' is from a song by the Rentals! Jeeze! Only took me more than a month!

I could have forgotten lucid dreams but never known it.

Sometimes I only remember the moment that I became lucid, or that I became lucid at all, and don't remember jack about the rest of the dream. It's kind of like those days when I wake up remembering only that I had a dream but not even a single snapshot of what the dream was. (Middle-of-the-night dreams tend to be like that...or if my recall is good, I remember one or two snapshots from them.)

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.
