How do you know if you are lucid, or faking lucid? Set a goal beforehand. If you try and complete it, and do not become obsessed with the obstacles, then you have high lucidity. If you are like me a few days ago, when I "became lucid" and spent the whole time flying around as a firefly 'for fun,' when I had planned to go to the beach... You can guess I wasn't really lucid.
Your best bet is to set two goals: stabilize (immerse your senses and wake your logical mind), and your personal goal. Even if you are 'fake lucid,' if you can get that first half part of your routine, chances are it will make you 'real lucid.'
