I keep getting stuck at SP

WOW, I've learned so much from this forum already! I love to read old topics, but I couldn't easily find an answer to my 'problem'.

It's only 1 week ago that I discovered what SP was (I experienced it at least once a week and it made me really terrified, like going to die when it happend).
So now I know what it is and it feels actually pretty cool to do it on purpose :-)

I would love to learn to get into an LD this way, but somehow I get 'stuck' at the moment my body is asleep. I even got to the point where I could feel my eyes making rapid movements, but still: no dream-scenario appeared and I couldn't think of anything particular.

I tried making up a scenario before getting into SP, but that also fades as soon as my body is asleep. I can lie still for 1 hour, going in and out of SP several times (feeling gets nicer every time) but it's BORING if no dream shows up...

Finally, I give up, turn on my side and have a normal dream and wake up in the morning being disappointed

(so far for me 'getting out of my comfort zone' of just reading and not posting )
*oops this should be in the forum below, can't delete/move it myself )

Sometimes, I think I'm in SP, but really I'm not. It gets me pretty frustrated, too... And after much hardship with the WILD method, I learned something very important: WILD is not for me!

It's as if because I want to be in SP, my body makes itself feel like SP... Even when it's not.

When you give up, do you have a hard time falling back asleep? (If so, you need to change your technique style)
How long do you WBTB? (You may be staying up too long)
Have you tried detaching yourself from your body? (focusing on the early stages of SP is the best way to prevent it from expanding)

Be more patient, SP can be induced at will but REM isn't that easy to induce. Don't forget about the cycles your REM goes through. To easily solve your problem I would suggest sleeping for about 5 hours, waking up and then going into SP...your odds of LD'ing will go up astronomically. Research WBTB (Wake back to bed)

P.S. Hi Abra, long time no see
Things are not as they seem

How long have you been practising on this?

Nope, takes 1 or 2 minutes to fall really asleep.

How long do you WBTB? (You may be staying up too long)
It depends, I didn't make a nice schedule, so every night was different.

Have you tried detaching yourself from your body? (focusing on the early stages of SP is the best way to prevent it from expanding)
Hmm, that's an interesting one. Focus on detaching in the early stage of SP? I could try that tomorrow :-)

Thanks! I'll take this advise and try it tonight! Maybe I didn't sleep long enough before trying this way and/or woke up during a deeper sleeping stage instead of during a long REM cycle.
