      Flying

Was Lucid last night and have never flown since I was a kid, and even then I was restricted to about a meter high.
Last night I was gently jumping to fly, but just landed on the ground as normal.
Bear in mind this was a short LD (no time to invent jet-packs and such)
      Any tips?

What do you mean you were restricted? What is restricting you?

My best tip is to just keep trying. I sometimes can't fly in my dreams when I want to, other times it's really easy. Turning myself into a bird helps, but it takes some mental effort.

When I was about 7 years old (30 years ago) I could fly but I was only allowed to hover about 1 meter off the ground. Like a reverse magnet or something doing it from the earth.
      Hope that makes sense.

What is interesting is that you can, potentially, do anything in your dreams. You're technically only limited by your own conscious imagination and manifestations. Thus, I am curious what is "restricting" you as the word implies another governing body.

The very reason that you are using the word restriction shows that you unconsciously do not feel in complete control of your dreams.

Maybe true. I am new recently to LD's as an adult, but I have read many posts where people are restricted by powerlines and trees etc too.
I took a chance and tried. Failed. But will try again.

Good attitude - I like it. Let us know what happens.

As a note, sometimes I find it funner to simply jump really high instead of flying. As long as you land properly, it can sometimes be funner (or funnier).

Anytime you have trouble controlling your dreams it's usually because you don't truly believe you have control. That's always been my case. You really have to believe when you want to do something, and that will usually work. As for flying, I usually flap my arms (which sounds silly but it works). I then focus on staying afloat and going higher and higher and to where I want to go.
      Working on: Astral Projection
      LDs: Too many to count
