want to get back into it but have a dilema

so long story short i used to try and go lucid regularly about a year ago. intensive color coded and organized dream journal every morning on computer. alas it started to take upwards of two hours to write my 5-6 dreams down a night. now my time is spread even more thin and i have become thoroughly disconnected from my dreams. maybe one a night with no detail and no memory of it. you can imagine i am pretty sad about this. so what are my options? any thoughts?

I would recommend not spending so much time recording. Spend five minutes right after you wake up recalling your dreams while trying your best not to move, as that may hinder recall. If you can't remember your dreams, then ask yourself if you had any dreams about something random, like a computer or a painting, and eventually you will find out something you dreamed of. Read other people's online DJs and see if they had a similar dream. Then write down a few notes, taking only a couple minutes or less. If you have time, then review the notes and record the entire dream.

As soon as you get your recall back up, you should start lucid dreaming again.

ya i guess ultimately what it comes down to is me being let down. i liked keeping a very lengthy dream journal and comparing common denominators, as well as dream analysis. so i will probably just be writing down the crucial instances and thoughts and hopefully get my recall back up. thanks for the thoughts

Recall is one of the easiest things you gain and lose. So if you stop and want to get back into it, it isn't to hard and your recall will likely come back pretty quickly. What I eventually ended up doing is just recording the interesting dreams, while not bothering with the less interesting ones.
