Nah, sleeping pills supress REM, but that doesn't mean you won't have it. You'll just have less. |

Ever since i first became a member i remember people saying that sleeping pills suppress REM sleep and made you sleep too deeply to remember/have dream. now i dont know what to believe. last night i had slept for about 3 1/2 hours when my brother came home from work and woke me up. I couldnt get back to sleep, so i took some asprin pm hoping that would help. It made me tired, but i didnt go to sleep right away. I was very suprised to find myself in the vibrations of a WILD about 20 min after i took the pill. Of course i didnt WILD, i was too suprised. But still i remembered my dreams in the morning, and i got the vibrations. Perhaps we could use these for WILD. It sure made the vibrations come easy. Maybe all that bad stuff about sleeping pills is a myth? what do you guys think? |

From time to time I take prescription sleeping pills -- Rozerem. So far I have not noticed a decrease in lucidity when I take them. However, if I have to take them more than three nights in a row, THEN I see a big diffrence in lucidity. |

Last night I took some Tylenol PM because I couldn't sleep and didn't feel all too great. |

That would be something cool to experiment with, also has anyone tried lucid dream induction pills? Im curious if those actually work. |
|
ive never heard of any lucid dream pills. Sounds kinda fake. any proof that they even work? |

i guess the only proof you could really have is talking to someone who had actually used them www.brilliantdreams.com |

They're probably just B6 pills. |
|
What exzactly are B6? Ive heard of them many times but do there effects really work? |
|
B6 = Vitamin B6, or "Pyridoxine" |

oh thank you thats what i assumed but your wikipedia definition made it clearer |

With the amount that lucid levels and vividness/recall differ from night to night, I wouldn't trust ANY personnel account. Even my own. The studies say that if anything, it should be worse. |
|
i have had lucid dreams with sleeping pills of many sorts (tylenol PM, benzodiazepines, rohypnol, flu medicines). My guess is they do not influence so much on lucidity, but they may influence on duration of REM cycles. |

I took 50mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride (a moderately strengthen sleeping pill) and had two lucid dreams last night; both were very stable, but I had poor control over them. |

That's Benadryl, right? |

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.
hmm sounds like i might give Benadryl a shot |

I would assume Benadryl (name brand) is far less than 50mg. If it's got other stuff in it then I wouldn't take more than the recommended dosage. Remember diphenhydramine is habit forming, so use it sparingly. |

I dream fine with benzo's but to be honest I think it just depends on so many other factors because sometimes I will remember great dreams and other times I will not remember anything. But remember we always dream. |
