Maybe. There are like a million zombie movies here. They always consist of a group of like 5 guys and 2 chicks raping most of them with guns then running out of bullets. Just seems it would be easier with fireballs. Its not just zombies though, i would want to do it to a horde of anything... soldiers, bees, mother in laws....
