      Is this considered Lucid Dreming?

Ok so sometimes when i am realllly tired i just fall asleep like instantly, and i can like see the position i am in sleeping. i also hear the TV or radio and i feel that im suffacating due to the fact that your breathing slows when you sleep. it really isnt enjoyable to me cause it scares me and i have to relax and calm down then try moving really fast in order to wake up...is this considered lucid dreaming?

I understand what you're saying, happens to me nearly every night.

Anyway, when this happens to you, do you realize you are dreaming/sleeping?

Hey, i cant believe i wasnt the only one having these freaky experiences!!! i slip back into them too but mostly my first few i had such a struggle to snap out of them i was so scared to go back to sleep one night i got up at 2am and was so angry from it i didnt wanna go back to bed, but im not sure of the technical terms for these dreams think its like sleep paralysis i read that on another forum....but mainly mine are nightmares for a while i thought it was ghosts and then someone said its a spirit trying to take over your body LOL so o=im not sure if it considered a lucid dream maybe someone else can help us here.........
what are yours like? i had one before on holidays where there was someone trying to break into our apartment (im dreaming) and im freaking out tryna call my friend then i cant scream cant move and start thinking im suffocating then i think im gonna die, so then i say to myself calm down calm down and then i start to come around and wake up freaked....................

When you say you can "see the position" you're sleeping in, do you mean from a third person perspective or just looking at yourself from lying on the bed?

To me, it sounds like you're experiencing sleep paralysis. This usually happens when you wake up during your REM stage of sleep. When you dream, your body tends to put your body in a state of paralysis so that you don't act out your dreams and stuff. This is handy when you're dreaming, but when you wake up during this, it can be kind of scary if you don't know what's going on. So if you wake up, and "see yourself" just lying on a bed unable to move, you might have woken up during this sleep paralysis. As for the radio thing, I'm sure you can awaken with sleep paralysis with your eyes closed.

Also, sometimes when you are experiencing sleep paralysis, although you're awake, you're not fully consious, so you might start having hallucinations. Luckily you haven't experienced that. If you ever do, however, just make sure to tell yourself it's only a dream, and that no harm will come by it. You seem to have already mastered being able to tell it's a dream, so I'm sure you'll do just fine. Don't frustrate yourself in trying to wake yourself up too hard; it might take a while for your body to adjust from the paralysis to a normal state. How long, I'm not quite sure, but I'm sure you can find more information online.

      Hope this helps! =3

I think if you learn to calm yourself down and expect it, you can use it to get Lucids... kind of like a super quick WILD. Maybe calm yourself down and just go with it, continuously remind yourself you'll be fine, and then try to visualize and go from there. Some sort of VILD sounds in order here. Give it a shot

I have calmed myself down but would rather just wake up because most of mine are scary ones, and i have slipped back into then instantly if i go back to sleep, like the one where someone was breaking in to the apartment i knew it was a dream the second time because the shadows in the room were different to when i was awake like it was a different time of the night or something, the street lights cast a shadow in the room and when i slipped back into the dream i was dreaming that i was looking around the room and noticed some things were different like the wardrobe was moved then i knew i was dreaming but could hear the foot steps coming to the door again this time it was my brother who unfortunately died 10 years ago so he was calling me from outside i got all excited forgot it was a dream couldnt believe he was alive and then it turned nasty again it was like i had been tricked again into thinking this was real when infact i knew i was dreaming but got tricked....so it wasnt my brother it was like a spirit who tricked me into thinking it was my brother so i would allow him in or something then i got a body rush and started to try to wake myself up again heavily breathing freaking out the only way i can wake myself up is if i say ok im dying just go with it and then i wake up.......... its as if im afraid to die and these dreams test me to a stage where i say ok accept it and just die then i wake up............

Hey Randomhero i guess were not alone LOL its scary isnt it you could be so tired sometimes when you wake you just couldnt fight it so slip straight back into it, yeah mine are when im scared from the nightmare then i can feel my heart beat most times i think im dying......i get scared too and all i wanna do is wake up i dont wanna try the lucid dreaming and change it i just wanna get out asap!!! i have had lucid dreams too but to be honest i dont wanna mess with my dreams, i do remember most of my dreams and i have had a few which have come true like people who are pregnant i dream of the sex of the baby like one time i dreamt i met my neighbour and she said im having a boy when she didnt know the sex then 1 week later she had a boy, i dont even know half of the technical term for dreaming im really into it but find the technical terms too much to learn......i like dreaming but not the scary ones!!!!! i got laid off work recently and kept dreaming that week that i was late for school and was worried it was like being a teenager again in my dream i didnt wanna walk into the scool alone coz eople would be looking at me and i didnt wanna walk into the class late it was like stage fright i would have rather stayed at home than walk into school late so i have had a few of those lately LOL dreams are strage but thank god i havent had any more of the paralysed ones lately!!!!!!!!

Lots of info on SP here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

Some tips I've learnt from my experiences with sleep paralysis:

If you're extremely frightened, having hallucinations etc. and really want to wake up, move your eyes from side to side very quickly. This always wakes me from SP.

On the other hand, if you want to experiment with using SP as a way to enter a lucid dream, I would advise closing your eyes, concentrating on the feelings in your body, then get up out of bed and walk about a bit in your room, keeping your eyes closed, maybe reach out and try to touch a wall or door. Then open your eyes and do a reality-check. You will most likely be standing in a dream-representation of your bedroom, and you should become lucid.

SP can be very scary but once you start seeing it as a way to become lucid, it's not so bad. You might even start looking forward to it.

nope its not lucid dream..its called OBE(out of bed experience)..if you can see your body lying on your bed, then try to walk outside and try to fly, but im not sure if it'll work.....
lucid dream is not real, its just like your dream, just dream..OBE is reality, you can go anywhere you like but no one could see you..you're in a real world not in a dream. so you're so lucky,if you want to visit your gf's house or friends house, and then tomorrow tell them what they did last night, and they'll be amazed. you're like an invisible person.i dont know if you understand what i mean
