      I flew out of a 2 story building, and landed on my ass in my LD. I didn't feel pain.. thank god!! LOL

      Yeah, same with me. For the most part I never experience pain in a lucid dream, maybe it's because I don't pay attention to it when it happens. Though, one time when I was at a high level of lucidity I did hit my hand on fence as I was running and I felt pain.

      It's funny how that works In LD. I feel pain with a simple hit to the hand but never when I'm shot.. heh..

      It's a defense mechanism that even the lucid dreamers with the least control can pull off. We fall, we know we are dreaming, we know we do not have to experience pain, coupled with the fact that we (both subconscious and conscious) don't want to experience pain, so we experience no pain from the fall. It's the union between the consciouses that makes it most effective. As soon as you think "if this were real, this would hurt," as opposed to "this isn't real, so it won't hurt," you will feel the pain.
