      3 Month long dry spell

Lo people... took a break from dreamviews as I'm employed now, and residing in a different locale to where I'm normally based, but otherwise, I'm back for now.

And I'm back after having a 3 month long dry spell. No lucid dreams and hardly any vivid dreams which I can remember in detail when I wake up. All I get is small fragments, but never enough to piece together the whole dream. Sleeping wise... I'm getting a little bit less than I'm used to during the week, but in the mornings, it always gets too noisy in the house to really have a morning nap.

It could be to do with where I am, but it also doesn't help when I can't even dream properly. Vitamin B6 didn't really work for me over the past 3 months, and even with a dream journal by my bedside, I'm only able to write just a few things into it every morning, and never anything detailed. Hell, my little brother (whom I introduced the concept of lucid dreaming) has done better than me! He's even got to meet his subconscious... lucky bastard.

So... I ask the more experienced dreamers in the forum, any tips on helping me get out of my dry spell, or will it literally be a case of simply waiting until it ends?

Maybe little of galantamine could help. 4mg at about 04.00
Look at www.advancedLD.com for more info. I think this is good medicine against dry spell.

just in case you dont know its impossible to dream if you smoke the pot

just make shure lucid dreaming is the only thing you think about as youre falling asleep. I've learned it dosent matter how determined i am in the afternoon if im not into it at night it never happens for me.

And as for the pot, I don't smoke the stuff... my only vice is coffee (of which I drink only during the day). Falling asleep is something that takes ages for me, so it is quite hard for me to maintain a single train of thought when falling asleep. But then again, it doesn't help me not being able to remember my dreams come the morning.

Okay, I had a vivid dream last night, so at least I'm encouraged with the fact I can still dream properly... however, now I have to work on my recall, as I can't remember most of my dream. I remember bits and pieces, like me being given a black, matte finish electric guitar and I would try to play it, though not very well, and then me hanging around a bunch of people outside (can't remember much of the scenery, except it was some sort of valley/canyon), and we all stripped and compared our height, physique, etc with each other... which was pretty bizarre.

      Broken Storyline

I learned some cool things from someone more expieranced about 18 years ago. He was much more experianced at dreaming. He warned me that weeks even months would pass with out dreaming much at all. Then waves of experiances, followed by nothing, and a cycle like that,, on and on.
I doubted him and studied hard determined to not have that happen. Now at 36 I would give the same advice. It is ok to have dry spells, as long as you want dreams, you have a whole lifetime. Why it happens? No Idea

Mmm... a wise perspective. So yeah, dry spells are an inevitability with dreaming, so all one can do during a spell is really refocus on his/her goals and techniques for dreaming. As for me, I think for me it's more of a case of finding a better method and improving my dream recall.
