      Cant Sleep

      ok guys after starting to look at stuff on lding i cant fall asleep easily ..... takes hours enles im like REALY freaking tired and my parents are getting tired of me comeing to there room and being all like " i cant sleep help me"


      this is basicly what happens

      night with not much sleep
      realy tired next day
      night with not much sleep
      REALY tired
      lot of speep
      night with not much sleep
      ect.

      my dad is blaming it on the fact im trying to chang my dreams and i need to let nature take its course

      Try waking up at different times. For example, I wake up at 2:30 AM, I can't go to sleep. I wake up at 3:30 AM, I can't wait to go back to sleep. I guess you try to time it where you don't wake up right after a deep sleep stage. Just my guess. But do try waking up at different times.

      If insomnia still plagues you, try doing other stuff before bed. You don't necessarily have to wake up in the middle of the night.

      And don't give up. I've been trying to induce a lucid for the last 30-something days. But I haven't given up, and I won't until my curiosity is purged.
      This is the date of my first lucid: 3/6/2010
      It took WAY TOO LONG - but was completely worth it.

      ok but that does not help alot bucuse one of my problems is geting to sleep in the first place


      this is depriving me of lds becuse im ether to awake to sleep or in a REALY deap sleep

      I'm more or less the same, except I never get enough sleep... I guess one day a week when I don't have school I do. But yeah, I'm just not tired in the evenings, and I don't want to go to bed since I know I'll just lie awake for ages.

      But then in the mornings I can hardly keep my eyes open. It's horrible. But then the evening of the same day I'm fine and not needing sleep. Meh. Help please.

      I had one episode which was just like yours. There were times, i simply couldnt get asleep. It was becouse i tried the techniques i should try at WBTB before getting asleep. For me it was all about expectations. I expected to learn L. Dreaming as fast as possible. So i thought too much about it at evening and couldt fall asleep. These nights were not as good. It helped, when i changed my priorities. I removed most of exercises from the evening. Especially the ones concerning use of internal dialogue. It is really interesting how much dynamic internal dialogue provokes. It often includes side ideas and you are in merry go round.

      Yeah it's really bad to keep internal dialogue on well going to sleep, and I exspecually have a hard time falling asleep if I'm trying to get to sleep .

      Best thing I can do is just lay still, not roll over or anything, and just think about how I feel about stuff that happened in the day, not use words and everything but just think about it in senses, just don't what ever you do get hooked on some problem, that can give you one heck of a bad nights sleep, try thinking about things that comfort you and stuff, just don't use words, and let your mind take it's own course, and don't resist the small changes in thought, thats very important.

      Blaming lucid dreams is like blaming a gun for killing someone.

      Nothing to do with you trying to change your dreams. It's that it's way too much on your mind. You need to clear your mind before you go to sleep. Try this tutorial that I wrote: 99 Breaths to Relieve a Wandering Mind

      Maybe i am too progressive. But it would be fine, if there were a section with hint and tips for us noobs somewhere. This would be a fine addition to this forum. I cant imagine how long it took me to find this out

      Though we have the tutorials I think thats a good idea, with a list of tips for a large number of things that are very important to know all grouped together, that people could add to.

      Maybe a voted, highly managed list of hints. {or maybe forum}. The problem could be, how could simple hint be nominated into this list, and how can people decide if this is relevant or not. I thing i begin a new thread about this. I dont want to spam this thread anymore.

      ok thanks guys right now tho i in that stage were im getting deep sleep......... and school is pretty much keeping me sleep deprived so that will at least let me have more dreams........
