Are tutorials the only knowledge base Dreamviews build?

Sorry about this provocative sentence. Still. This is my experience. I started in Dreamviews some time ago. In terms of activity, I am a noob. To be sure. I have seen lots of interesting posts. And found lots of knowledge, which is and often stays hidden in quite big anmout of posts. Dreamviews do have the knowledge. But when i open the forum. I often have to post my question. Even if it was answered thousands of times.

What if we created a process, which could help us organise the knowledge we have. What if we created a process which {from itself} could help us find some tips and tricks in various dream related scenarios?

As for me. I am not as much in search for a perfect LD technique (tutorials are mostly about techniques). I would like to know the answer for simple questions like: What to do to prevent overdoing exercises at the evening {so I can sleep well without twisting and turning in bed}? What to do to improve visualisation skills and other minor questions and many more.

Simply>>> I would like to "open the encyclopedy" and search in a set of hints from category i select. But also if I find something interesting out. I would like to add my knowledge to this.

My vision is to create a forum, which would be strictly moderated, where people could post their tips to various {defined} dream related scenarios, and where others could vote for the tips. If they get enough votes and also some support from moderators or dreamguides {who guarantee relevance (from my point of view)}, they could be officially added to the list of tips for that concrete scenario. We could then simply build our information base as a list of tips or tricks covering all aspects of lucid dreaming.

Some of the categories which are not covered in tutorials:
      ---Effective dream journaling tips
      ---Tips for visualisation
      ---Half sleep states tips
      ---Tips for noobs
      ---Night time management tips
---How to perform lucid experiments tips
      ---Fear management and handling tips
      and many, many more

What do you thing? Would'n it be superb to have means of knowledge building where everybody could participate?

      State your opinions Dreamviews mates.

      1. Why a limit? People would decide whats useful.
      2. Answer to P.S: Of course. I myself love to experiment and find it on my own. But when i am stuck i often read. When i find cool idea, which might help the others, which might prove useful. Why not to add to our global knowledge.

You mean like a LD wiki? Thats a good idea. Sounds like a lot of work, though.

Hmm. Well. Yess. Lot of work for one person. But not as much for a whole community. Lets summarize how much work would it cost>>>>

      1. One well formulated tip proposal from you (lets say)
      2. Votes from fellow members (their attention)
      3. Adding the tip to the thread specific area by administrator
      4. Removing tip proposal thread by administrator

Well. Not as much work. Still it could help.

      Not exactly...

Several members are working on a book, and there is a huge wiki in the team forums somewhere, you should check it out. It has information from hundreds of useful threads. A superguide if you will.

The difference would be, that it would be only raw information within that forum.
I can imagine One forum called KNOWLEDGE BASE.
Within this forum there would be one subforum called
KNOWLEDGE BASE PROPOSALS where would the voting occur.

Content of the Knowledge base forum would be raw, without chat or so. Only tips organized in threads.

What do you think now? Just condensed knowledge. Thats the difference.

True. Still this could add one more think. I often dont know what is the exact search term. I only know the category where i have some problem or where i am interested in experiences of others. So i open the knowledge base, look up the category and search.

Personally. I would feel proud, if people considered my tip to be as good to be written in journals.

One more thing: We have one cool research forum. What are the results of that forum? We could also use the results of Research forum to support this forum type wiki.

Heh I don't think it would do much difference, personally. There are many great websites based on lucidity out there, and a few starting up. If you don't mind me saying, I believe the LucidWiki would just fit your needs, but it's pretty much deserted. I gave it an enthusiatic shot but working alone gets boring. I wonder if we could get a few DV members to contribute to it?

So, basically, I believe this is a discussion forum, and for so is limited in what it can offer. We could also move on to a more strict forum like ld4all, but I don't think that is a solution & I like Dreamviews just because it's the way it is.

I personally think the *cough* Education Team *cough* should be responsible for gatherign new information and updating the tutorials, but ah oh well, I'm a part of it too and look at me here.

To everyone out there, if you're willing to contribute to the LucidWiki, we could make it grow unimaginably. and I'm an admin there, so no prob with whatever may come up.

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.

I just ended a discussion with a friend on DV Chat ending with nearly the same results. Do i feel bad about the posts here? Not. That was an idea how a simple system could be used to collect some information.

Now I am starting to understand, that community has its own life, which wont change as easily. Let me know, when you change your mind. I am an ever waiting project initiator full with creative ideas.

As for Lucid Wiki. I am in. I dont know how to, but i am in.

i made that only problem is that all the helpful stuff like that gets pushed down to the bottom

I can fully remember reading your thread in past. Yes, it got burried overtime. But it helped me a lot. I dont understand, why people dont see the additional benefits of new KNOWLEDGE BASE forum, although everyone says, that informations are burried and cannot be found. And it could be soo easy and so self constructive.
