Dream Imagery While Not Fully Asleep

Does anyone experience dreamlike scenes or imagery just in the imagination, like a vivid visualization but random and dreamlike while meditating or in light sleep stages in the morning? Is this anything to to pay attention to or is it anything of significance?

It's basicly HH and the beginning of a dream forming. Try to relax and keep on watching or imagine interacting and you'll soon be in the dream.

Hmm does it happen when you start waking up or start falling asleep? If it's when you start waking up, those are hypnopompic hallucinations. If it's when you start falling asleep, it's hypnagogic hallucinations. Also, I agree with Matte in that you can use that to enter a dream.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

It never happens upon waking. A lot of times I get it after I wake up and lay there for a minute or two before I fall back asleep. What I've happen many times is I'll wake up from my alarm and hit snooze then while laying there still awake I will start having sort of a half dream that I'm checking the time and it's much later in the day or something but I know that it's wrong and that I'm just imagining it. Aslo a lot of times there will something to read but I can't read it because the letters keep getting jumbled and it never makes sence. I have these sort of imagined dreams if I medetate for 20 or 30 minutes and get really relaxed and almost fall asleep. Usually during this state though the second I pay attention to them I snap out of it. I was thinking that it was just my thoughts creeping in but they are so random and dreamlike. I didn't think it was HH because I've never seen swirling colors or geometric patterns or anything. Your thougts are appreciated. Id like to get this figured out, I've been trying to learn to lucid dreaming for about a year now and have had maybe 8 or 9 but all short and far between. I just wanted to figure out if this was something I should pay attention to or just ignore.

Oh, I get this all the time before I become fully unconcious. In my mind, it's just my mental projection of the desired dreamscape I wish to enter.

Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

I get imagery if I have a long sleep in the morning. I wake up, where I rest and relax then close my eyes.. I usually get these single image 'frames' which flick across in my minds eye at the same speed rapidly, sort of synchronized. I can sometimes interject my own image or thought, however the longest I have kept the synchronization going in my head is for over 30 sec. I sort of consciously know the imagery is there at the time. Too much thought stops it happening, abrubtly.
Most of the time the imagery is weak and repetitive. I suppose it is a type of HI, but I feel (in my case) that it is not 'typical' hypnopompic imagery.
Usually my 'normal' HI when dropping off to sleep includes image formation, scenes and slow movement where the image is more 3 dimensional, sometimes with accompanied voices, conversation, faces, etc.

Does anyone know if this is hypnogogic imagery that leads to WILD or something different?
