      Paralysis

A couple nights ago I woke up and lifted my left arm and found that my left hand was paralized. I just realized now that I was probably dreaming. Now, I was also lying with that arm under my head so circulation wasn't the greatest. It was just my left hand but it felt like I was awake. Do you think I was dreaming and had a FA or was I awake and just had an interesting experience brought on by a poor choice in sleeping position?

Only you can determine it by performing a simlpe RC on digital clock or lamp near your bed.

I was sleeping in a tent and didn't think I might be dreaming. Oh well.

Oh, that digital clock RC doesn't work for me at all!! lol I must have had 3 FAs this morning, and I looked at my clock and it was perfectly normal.

Did you look away and look back or try to will it to change? Some people have unstable numbers without doing this but I find I need to will it to happen or turn my back on it to change.

Ohh I haven't tried looking away from it.. those FAs just felt so real, I mean I felt extremely tired and didn't even think to question whether I was dreaming. I also expected that if I saw a clock in my dream, it would be all messed up like in Waking Life. Heh, more practice for me then!

      *Deletes gameovers double post*

In the studies of dreaming and somatically induced dreams, it is possible that your hand only was paralyzed due to you laying on it in a pecuilar way.

It could also simply be a dream sign (feeling incapable of doing something = no hand, for example).

Could also have been a false awakening, I suppose, although the same motivations remain (as we are not sure what exactly causes false awakenings).

If you were sleeping in a tent, was the ground rough at all? Do you believe that it may have influeced the dream at all?

funny things can happen with clocks.

for example it can be blured, so you can hardly see numbers.
It can be greyed out, like low battery or soemthing.

and you have to lock at it and look back at least 3 times to be sure.

It was probably just the circulation, then. I don't think the ground made any difference. It was pretty soft (I was on a lawn) and I had been sleeping on it a couple of days. Thanks for your opinions.
