      Your best technique

ITT, post your technique that has either gotten you the most reliable success, or if you haven't had many LD's yet, like me, the technique that has given you the best (i.e. clearest, longest, most lucid) lucid dream to date.

      Here's mine:

I wake up 5.5 hours after going to bed, and take 8 mg Galantamind. I go back to sleep immediately after taking it and let it wake me up in 1 hour. I try to WILD, (counting on both the in and out breaths, without saying "I'm dreaming"), since I'm so awake anyway. I fail, eventually get tired, then fight to just fall asleep naturally. Always reality check every time I wake up, and wait for a DILD to happen.

      Go, Go, Go.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

MILD technique on early morning Nap sessions
Paprika: Don't you think dreams and the Internet are similar? They are both areas where the repressed conscious mind vents.

John Lennon: I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now? Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.

That's good, but what do you do? What do you mnemonic? How long does it take you? Knowing these things might help someone else. Like me.

Every morning my first (pretty darn early) alarm wakes me up.

I then fall back to sleep and do a WILD or two.

Then 45 minutes later second (still pretty early) alarm wakes me.

Then I fall back to sleep and do another WILD or two.

Then 45 minutes later third alarm wakes me and I get up.

      LoL sounds complex.

Most reliable, simply a DILD from an instinctive RC (checking my watch).

Most rewarding, however, is definitely the WILD imo. I sleep for 5 hours, wake up n' browse DV, get back into bed, focus on math, and wait for HI.

Most of my LDs (and most of my best LDs) have been DILD. I'm a natural LDer, so LDs are kind of automatic for me, as long as I'm not too stressed.

The ways in which I enhance my natural DILD ability are:
      1. For 5 min before falling asleep focus on my goal for the night (usually to have vivid LDs).
      2. RC throughout the day, and everytime I wake up (this catches those FAs).
      3. Keep a DJ to make the most of my recall ability.
      4. Think about dreaming throughout the day.

My next most successfull techniques are MILD and DEILD, tied in effectiveness and vividness of the LDs they cause.

DILD, I find that when I'm getting a good night's sleep I can pretty reliably create a DILD.

I'm training myself to recognize dream entry (sleep paralysis, vivid HI, etc.). It's happened to me spontaneously a few times, so all I needed to do was replicate the sensations in my mind, and assert to myself that the signs are important to recognize. These pseudo-WILDs produce my best lucid dreams.

DILDs occur frequently, but they are like a box of chocolates, if you catch my drift.

i set my alarm 5-6 hours into sleep. Wake up go to the bathroom and back to bed. I got 2 of my longest most vivid and most lucid dreams out of this, and those were the 2 WILDS i've ever done
Once I had a dream i woke up 5-6 hours into my sleep, but i thought it was RL and then went back to bed only just to really wake up.

Yeah, I've caught 2 FA's so far, and they've been the best, clearest, most real LD's I've had.

I FILD.... alot lol kinda on my psp so I wont type my teq cause it'll take to long. The basic step I do that got me 12 LD's on FILD alone and no DILDS is to wake after 3 to 4hrs of sleep because I found this way it produces the most vivid and also very fast entry because the essence of FILD is: you have to fall asleep FAST and I gaurantee sleeping for that short period of time will make FILD work every time. I myself am trying to FILD on 7 to 8hrs because I need sleep for school .

Lately I've been meditating daily - sitting quietly, concentrating on the breath, calming the turbulence of undisclipined thought. Then, when I go to bed I take a few moments to silence my mind and tell myself to carry my waking awareness into my dreams. (Shutting down your thoughts - even for just a couple of breaths - before & after you give directions to your subconcious makes those directions much more potent.) Since doing this I've had a big spike in LDs.

PS I've tried Galantamind and it does work, but it gives me completely phucked up LDs.
