Is there a difference where you breathe from?

i jus wanna bring this question up cause i've pondered it for a time.
Does it matter if you go to sleep breathing through your mouth or nose?
cause some lucid dreams i remember (after i have woken up), i've breathed through my nose, but then that means that breathing in through your mouth is a waste of time. And another question, will the nose pinch RC not work if you're breathing from your mouth?

It shouldn't matter. At a normal rate of breathing you don't get any more air one way or another. It does make a difference if you are on your stomach or not though. Nose pinch should still work, just close your mouth first

^^ Yeah. I mean.. the nose pinch doesn't work like you're pinching your real life nose or anything, so it doesn't matter whether or not you're breathing through your nose IRL.

Once you fall asleep, you can`t really control from where you breathe, usually your mouth will open on its own... *cough*snoring*cough*

You should rephrase the question to :

Does it matter which side of your nose you are breathing through?

In the Tibetan tradition, they do a lot of work with controlling breathing through one side of your nose or the other. Not just for dreaming. Some people think it is a trick to activate the left/right hemispheres of your brain.

I don't think it matters, escpecially during an RC, but then again, that's only a "think."

As said before, I know the position of your body can mess with you a little bit, but once you actually dive into that dream, your body takes control of where you are breathing from. Once again, it doesn't matter if you are breathing through your nose or through your mouth and attempt to do an RC, because you're in a whole nother body. Same with the hand-RC. Just because your hands are clasped together when you fell asleep, does that mean you can't look at them?
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.
