Holy shit, I think I did. you tell me.

I think I had my first lucid today. It starts out as a nightmare.

So it begins like this. It is night time, in a suburban street and there is a cop with me. I spot something walking. something slightly invisible, Like the Predator from the movie. It is just walking casually but then the cop shoots at it. it turns visible and what do you know, it is the Predator. he run at the cop and kills him. I am behind it now and scared shitless. It turns around shoots me with something and i start choking and fall down. I think to my self and say, "wait a minute this is a dream". I get up but everything is fading, I spin around to see if it works, and it did. So now I jump at it, attacking it. Every thing begins to fade again, I spin, doesn't work, i wake up.

Now the thing is, I didn't feel really conscious, it just happened how it happened .Was this really a lucid .
      You loose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks they really found you.

      CONGRATULATIONS.

You did indeed have you're first lucid.

Now, it's not up to us whether or not it's your true first lucid, it's really in the eye of the beholder. My first lucid dream was mere seconds long, like yours.. but the second one I had was almost 3 hours in length (thats what it felt like!). So, as long as you recongized you were dreaming, then made a conscious effort knowing you were dreaming, I think you've finally gotten it!

Good job on remembering to spin and stuff!

I wish many more lucids to you!

if you knew you were lucid dreaming and was able to walk around with your free will, yea it was a LD. normally your first is pretty crappy but they only get better from here! my first LD everything was really hazy and lasted only 40 seconds but my fifth one (got it last week) was great. congratulations on your first LD.

Yeah, it's a lucid dream, my first lucid dream was just a few seconds long, but my fourth lucid dream seemed to have lasted like half an hour, so it's pretty common to have short lucid dreams as your first. Congrats.

It can go both ways. Some lucid dreams will feel very much like a dream, where you are still sort of acting out the script of the dream, but aware you are doing it. Some are so real you have to do several reality checks just to be sure. Some are so hyper real, they make your waking world seem like crap in comparison.

      Read through this thread.

The good news is, they get better and better. Congratulations!
